Watertown Aquatic Team (WAT) swimmers recently competed in the 2016 Mid-Wisconsin Conference Championship Swim Meet hosted by the Waterloo Swim Club.
The 34 swimmers are Justine Acker, Allison Bilgrien, Ryanna Bilgrien, Rylee Bilgrien, Cali Craig, Nohra Good, Raigan Good, Marley Hodgett, Evan Jaworski, Zachary Jaworski, Caty Lou Kaczmarek, Oleysa Kazina, Hailey Mauel, Aiden McCarthy, Devin McGuire, Teagan McGuire, Abby Meis, Emma Meis, Nolan Meis, Lydia Meyers, Harlee Micale, Emerson Milbrath, Jackson Milbrath, Maura Prochaska, Evelyn Rhodes, Lauren Scholze, Addison Schuch, Sofia Spiegelberg, Claire Stuart, Emily Stuart, Ayralese Wagner, Shelby Webber, Nathan Williams and Olivia Wrolstad.
The WAT swimmers competed in a total of 120 individual swims and 11 relays. In the individual events WAT posted 82 personal best times and took 51 of the top 12 finishes. Six out of the 11 relays placed in the top 12. Allison Bilgrien, Ryanna Bilgrien, Rylee Bilgrien, Evan Jaworski, Zachary Jaworski, Caty Lou Kaczmarek, Aiden McCarthy, Devin McGuire, Teagan McGuire, Nolan Meis, Jackson Milbrath and Addison Schuch recorded personal bests in all their individual swims. Evan Jaworski, Zachary Jaworski, Devin McGuire, Nolan Meis, Jackson Milbrath, Sofia Spiegelberg, Claire Stuart, Emily Stuart and Nathan Williams placed in the top 12 of all their individual events. United States Swimming (USS) “B” motivational times were achieved by Evan Jaworski (boys 9-10 100 individual medley), Emerson Milbrath (girls 9-10 50 breaststroke) and Lauren Scholze (girls 11-12 50 freestyle). Claire Stuart earned a “BB” in the girls open 200 individual medley. Nathan Williams achieved an “A” time in the boys 11-12 50 freestyle.
The WAT relays that placed in the top 12 are: girls 8 and under 100 medley relay (Lydia Meyers, Nohra Good, Cali Craig, Ryanna Bilgrien); girls 8 and under 100 freestyle relay (Cali Craig, Nohra Good, Ryanna Bilgrien, Lydia Meyers); girls 10 and under 200 medley relay (Emerson Milbrath, Emma Meis, Caty Lou Kaczmarek, Justine Acker); girls 11-112 medley relay (Hailey Mauel, Lauren Scholze, Raigan Good, Maura Prochaska); girls 11-12 freestyle relay (Hailey Mauel, Maura Prochaska, Lauren Scholze, Raigan Good); and girls open 200 medley relay (Sofia Spiegelberg, Emily Stuart, Shelby Webber, Claire Stuart).
WAT placed third out of the six teams competing at conference. Eleven WAT swimmers (Justine Acker, Raigan Good, Evan Jaworski, Zachary Jaworski, Caty Lou Kaczmarek, Hailey Mauel, Emerson Milbrath, Sofia Spiegelberg, Claire Stuart, Emily Stuart and Nathan Williams) will be competing in the 2016 Wisconsin State Regional 3 Championships this weekend.
Nathan Williams will be competing in the 12 and under Wisconsin State Short Course Yards Championship Meet the following weekend and Claire Stuart will be competing in the 13 and Over Wisconsin State Short Course Yards Championship Meet the first weekend in March.
