Wrestling — Watertown Youth Wrestling coaches lead this instructional series designed to teach the fundamentals of wrestling. Focus will be on the basics, drills for building core strength and balance, and combative games with an end of the session mini tournament. Kids enrolled in 5K through 8th grade may register. Sessions run Tuesday to Dec. 17 at the Watertown High School mezzanine from 6-7 pm. Cost is $30/city resident and $45/non-city resident. Open gym basketball — Open gym basketball is for people high school age and older. It is held on Wednesdays at Watertown High School gymnasium. The gym is open on Wednesdays from 7:30-9 p.m. Program fee is $2/drop in or $20/season pass. Check in with gym attendant. Shower facilities are not available. You must change from street shoes to basketball shoes prior to entering the gym.

Winter Fun Day – Sign up children for winter fun Dec. 14 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Watertown Senior & Community Center. The group will be decorating cookies, doing crafts, playing games, coloring, having a trivia contest and lunch. Registration is open to children 6-12 years. Cost is $20/child city resident, $30/child non-city resident and $5/additional child. Must preregister. Basketball coaches wanted – The department is in need of coaches for 5th Grade Boys and Girls Basketball, which is held one or two weekdays per week after school, 3:30-5 p.m. in December/January. Salary is $10/hour. Applications should be turned in at the Park and Rec Office and can be found online at www.ci.watertown.wi.us or picked up at the Park and Rec Office.

Run Turkey Run — Start planning now for this Thanksgiving Day Run. This event will take place at Riverside Park on Thursday, Nov. 28. A 5K through the streets of Watertown will begin at 9 a.m. and the Kids’ 1K will begin at 10 a.m. and be held within the parameters of Riverside Park. Register at www.therunturkeyrun.com. This is an all-weather event.

Watertown High School intramural basketball — High school students will organize their own teams. Cost is $20/player. Registration material is available on the city’s website, online https://watertownwi.recdesk.com/Community/Program, Park & Rec office or the WHS Athletic Office. All materials are due on Dec. 11. There will be a captains meeting on Dec. 16 at 3:20 p.m. at the Watertown High School lecture hall. League will begin in January.
