The robber suspected of holding up the Shell gas station on South Church Street was captured on video surveillance.

Watertown police are currently investigating a robbery that occurred at the Shell gas station on 423 S. Church St. late Thursday morning.

According to a press release from the department, officers and detectives immediately responded to the scene but were unable to locate the suspect.

The robber displayed a weapon and obtained an undisclosed amount of cash from the gas station.

Images from the gas station's video surveillance system show the suspect dressed in dark colored pants and a safety yellow or neon green hooded sweatshirt. The suspect was also wearing a dark face covering, a dark baseball cap and gloves. The robber both arrived at the station and fled on foot.

The Watertown Police Department Investigations Division is requesting any information or assistance citizens may be able to provide regarding this crime.
