CONCORD — The Concord Town Board this month held a lengthy discussion on the hiring of snowplow drivers and wages.
The town has approximately 50 miles of roads. Requirements include a commercial driver’s license.
No decisions were made and the town is accepting applications for the service.
There were no zoning requests before the board.
The treasurer’s report, along with payment of monthly bills, were approved.
Clerk Brian Neumann gave his budget report. The budget planning meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Concord Community Center.
The highway department continues with tree removal/clean up from the July 29 tornado, along with brushing, road side, park, and cemetery mowing.
Many trees in Concord Park were damaged or lost due to the tornado. Replacing the trees with maples, oaks, or pines, along with stump grinding, was briefed. The Yellow Jackets baseball team is interested in helping defray some of the replacement cost.
Due to Jefferson County passing an all-terrain vehicle/utility-terrain vehicle ordinance, the plan committee will amend the town’s ordinance.
