MARSHALL — Sophomore guard Craig Ward scored 12 of his game-high 22 points in the second half to lead Marshall to a 63-41 Capitol South win over Waterloo’s boys basketball team on Thursday.

Marshall (13-6, 5-2 in conference) led 23-19 at halftime and put up 40 points in the second half to pull away.

“We had some early foul trouble that took guys out of the game early in the second half,” Waterloo boys basketball coach Trevor Deppe said. “We were never able to close the gap (once they pulled away).”

Junior forward Blake Huebner and sophomore guard Eugene Wolff each scored 10 points for Waterloo (7-10, 1-6), which plays at Markesan on Monday.
