LEBANON — Warren Braunschweig’s RBI double in the bottom of the 10th inning lifted the Lebanon Whitetails to a 2-1 Rock River League victory over the Ashippun Mudcats on Sunday at Legends Field.
Ashippun (1-6 RRL) led 1-0 when Adam Gross hit a one-out triple and scored on Brandon York’s RBI single. York finished with three of Ashippun’s seven hits.
Lebanon (4-3) scored a run in the ninth to force extra innings. Blake Semon hit a leadoff single, Cam Schuett sacrificed him over and Tyler Doyle hit a two-out RBI double to left.
In the 10th, Kyle Lee hit a one-out single and scored on Braunschweig’s walk-off double to left to end it. Lee finished with two of Lebanon’s five hits in the game.
Schuett started and pitched the first nine innings for the Whitetails, allowing one earned run on seven hits with 14 strikeouts and three walks. Matt Sabel struck out the side in the 10th and earned the win in relief.
Nate Brown had another strong outing for the Mudcats, throwing six shutout innings with 12 strikeouts and no hits. He gave up seven walks. York retired four batters and worked around three walks in middle relief. Jack Kraemer took the loss, allowing two earned runs on five hits with two strikeouts and one walk over the final two innings.
Lebanon plays a Nite League game at Neosho on Saturday, then hosts Farmington on Sunday in a Rock River League game.
