Helen Arlene (nee Wuestenberg) Nelson, 77, passed away peacefully receiving her wings on July 12, 2019. She was born on Sept. 4, 1942, the daughter of Harvey and Esther (nee Borchardt) Wuestenberg.
She grew up in Watertown and graduated from Watertown High School. She longed for the bigger city lights and moved to Milwaukee. There she met her knight in shining armor, Daniel R. Nelson. They were married and had two wonderful daughters and companion Sparkie. They raised their children in Rubicon and retired in the state of Oregon.
Helen loved to sing, dance, and drive her convertible in her youth. Later in life she loved to draw, pick strawberries, fish, cook, bake and read. She really loved watching old movies and spending time with family.
Helen is survived by her daughters Nancy (Matt) Woodhouse of Happy Valley, Oregon, and Sharone Perlman of Mission Viejo, California. She is further survived by five grandchildren, Lindsey, Emilie, Jack, Max and Sam and her son Craig. Her nieces and nephews are Judith Lueck, Horicon, Gary Lueck, Watertown, Paula Riedl, Watertown, Keith (Rita) Lueck, Watertown, Wanda Welch (Sturtevant), Jeff Sommerfeldt, Bristol and many other friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her sisters, Florence Lueck and Carol Sommerfeldt.
The family would like to thank all for her care at Good Samaritan Fairlawn Village. Two private celebrations of life will be held in Oregon and Watertown.
