Florence Wegner, 90, of Watertown, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at Watertown Regional Medical Center.
Florence was born on July 22, 1928, in Watertown, the daughter of Carl and Margaret (Kufahl) Herschi. Florence was a graduate of Watertown High School and an active participating member at Mamre Moravian Church in Watertown. She married Edward Wegner on June 29, 1946, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. She spent most of her life farming with her husband on the family farm. Florence also worked at Bethesda as a CNA for over 12 years and participated with Hubbleton Homemakers. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, sewing, embroidering and playing sheepshead. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Florence is survived by her daughters Mary (Larry) Braunschweig of Watertown and Ruth (Jim) Mack of Beaver Dam; sons, Edward (Grace) Wegner of Watertown, Donald Wegner (Lisa Nashold) of Johnson Creek, Glenn (Linda) Wegner of Watertown and William (Christine) Wegner of Watertown; sister Marliss (Ronald) Steindorf of Watertown; and brother Victor (Antoinette) Herschi of Watertown; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Luana Herschi and son-in-law Kenneth Garbelman.
A funeral service for Florence will be held on Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jane Harberg presiding. A visitation will be held at the Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home in Watertown on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. and also at church Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in the Mamre Moravian Cemetery.
