Barbara L. Hanke
HELENVILLE — Barbara L. Hanke, age 81, of Helenville, died on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at her home.
She was born on April 22, 1931, in the town of Lake, the daughter of Homer and Frances (Sayres) Isham. She married Alfred Hanke Jr. on April 25, 1953, in Milwaukee.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helenville, a member of the ladies aid and served on the Flower and Altar Committee for many years. She loved gardening, sewing kids clothing and wedding gowns, and enjoyed acrylic painting.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred Hanke Jr. of Helenville; her children, Mike (Cathy) Hanke of Green Bay and their children, Erin, Emma and Hannah; Nannette (Dave) Farris of Pittsburgh, Pa., and their children, Charlie and Angie; Natalie Hanke of Iola and her children, Jenny and Mike; and Laura (Jeff) Ott of Helenville and their children, Christian, Marcus and Dylan; three brothers, Gilbert (Ardy) Isham of New London, William Isham of Waukesha and George (Nancy) Isham of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Betty Carstensen and Mary Alberti both of Brookfield; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil and Homer.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helenville with the Rev. Lance A. Hoff officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Helenville.
Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to St. Peter’s Church in Helenville.

William “Bill” K. Kaercher, 78, of Watertown, passed away at his home on Tuesday morning, Jan. 29, 2013.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown with the Rev. Terry Larson officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects on Saturday at the funeral h ome from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or to the charity of one’s choice.

William Kenneth Kaercher was born in Watertown on Nov. 23, 1934, son of Edward J. and Irene E. (Johnson) Kaercher. On Nov. 18, 1962, he married Gloria M. Zietlow at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Juneau.
William served his country in the U.S. Navy.
He and his father built the current family home, and he had been employed as a maintenance electrician, retiring at the age of 63 from Lindberg Hevi-Duty in Watertown.
William was a member of the Watertown Pigeon Club.
He loved spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed producing videos for weddings, listening to polka music, gardening and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria, of Watertown; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cheryl Kaercher of Watertown; Brenda (Troy) Raby of Cambridge; two grandchildren, Ethan and Kiersten; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jane (Peter) Davy of Watertown; nieces, Alicia (fiancé J. Todd Lindstrom) Davy and Amy (Clark) Eckert all of Watertown; a grandnephew, Keenan Eckert of Watertown; a half-brother, John (Virginia) Kaercher of Watertown and other relatives and friends.
William was preceded in death by his parents; a half-sister, Arline Baumann, half-brothers; Donald, Edward G. and Lawrence Kaercher.
The family would like to thank Dr. Terry Turke and the entire staff at UW Health Partners for the wonderful care they provided.

TOWN OF CONCORD — Dorothy E. Sjoberg, age 78, of the town of Concord, entered eternal life Jan. 29, 2013.
Dorothy was born Oct. 11, 1934, in Waukesha to Albert and Augusta (nee Katzner) Zick. She married Darvin Sjoberg Jan. 24, 1953, in Waukesha. Dorothy was a homemaker who loved to garden, do canning with her daughter and great-granddaughters, going on family vacations in Canada and going to her other home in Texas.
Dorothy is survived by her beloved husband Darvin and loving children Dawn (Tom) Dehnert and Dale (Lori) Sjoberg, both of Watertown. She is the fond sister of Robert (Phippy) Nichols of Madison, Eric (Gloria) Zick of Milwaukee, Donna (Jim) Winn of Plover and Lorna (Jodi) Zick of Milwaukee. Dear grandmother of Jeremy (Heather) Dehnert and Jennifer (Brandon) Frentzel. Dear great-grandmother of Casandra and Abigail. Also survived by her brother-in-law Fred Plehn of Waukesha and her husband’s brothers and sisters Emmet (Mary) of Oconomowoc, Roger (Elsa) Sjoberg of San Diego, Calif., Irene (Roland) Habeck of Watertown, Karen Sjoberg of Ixonia and Christine Sjoberg of Oconomowoc.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Virginia, sister Ilah, brothers Lyle and Ray, grandson Jason, brothers-in-law Jerald and Larry, sisters-in-law Bernes and Elvice and father and mother-in-law Arvin and Bertha Sjoberg.
Friends may visit Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Final rest will be in Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia.

She was the loving wife of 66 years to Richard; loving mother of Suzanne (Gary) Manke, Mark (Cynthia) and Annette (Bruce) Kirschbaum; loving grandma of John and Erica Eggert and Allen (Karrie) Kirschbaum; and also loved by other relatives and friends.
Visitation at the funeral home, Monday from 10:30 a.m. until noon. A funeral service will be held at noon. Burial to follow at Forest Home Cemetery (meet at Cemetery Forest Home Avenue gate 1:45 p.m.).

Robert W. DeWitz
WAUTOMA — Robert W. DeWitz, age 87, of Wautoma, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, Fla.
Robert was born Dec. 22, 1925, in Hustisford to Irving and Leona (nee Schultz) DeWitz. He was united in marriage to Janice Hedrington on June 25, 1961, in Waukegan, Ill.
Robert was a veteran of the Navy. An active member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Hustisford and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Dakota serving as president of both church boards. Robert furthermore served as Commander of Legion Post No. 420, was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 108, and also a Shriner. Robert held various offices for the village of Hustisford, including village president for many years. Along with Elvin Will and Mark Erickson he successfully owned and operated Bee Industries, Inc. from 1974-1998.
Robert’s passions included playing the concertina for friends and family. Many nights were spent on Lake Sharon playing the concertina by the campfire and singing E-I-E-I-E-I-O to many generations around the lake. He found great happiness in fishing and hunting, never one to miss “the opener” for trout or deer hunting. His passions live on in his children and grandchildren.
His greatest love was spending time traveling with his devoted wife Janice; spending over 50 years together enjoying what life had to offer.
He is survived by his wife, Janice; children, William (Diane Duffey) of San Diego, Calif., Kelli DeWitz of West Bend, Daniel (Nadine) of Juneau, Jerome (Susan) of Oconomowoc, and Bobbi Jo (Kim) Dorsey of Neenah; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his sister Grace Konkel. He is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, son Robert W. DeWitz II, and his sister Lucille.
Funeral services for Robert will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, N4911 Gray Road, Hustisford, with the Rev. Dean Natterstad officiating. Visitation will be at the Shimon Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8 p.m. and on Tuesday morning at the church from 10-11 a.m.
Interment at Hustisford Cemetery, Hustisford.
