The Rev. Kenneth H. Roever, 82, of Watertown, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. David Groth officiating. Burial will be at the North Burnett Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Hafemeister Funeral Home on Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Good Shepherd Endowment Fund or Froedtert Hospital Endowment Fund would be appreciated.

The Rev. Kenneth Hugo Roever was married to the former Rosamond Moore and she preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 2007.

PORTAGE — Joan Mode, 82, of Portage, formerly of Jefferson, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at the Tivoli at Divine Savior Healthcare in Portage.
She was born on May 10, 1929, in the town of Jefferson, daughter of the late Clarence and Edna (Lembrich) Walther.
She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jefferson. She was employed at St. Coletta of Wisconsin Alverno as a certified nursing assistant from 1986 to 1998.
Joan spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was a wonderful cook and an excellent seamstress. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with her family and friends.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Ramona (Gary) Sonnenberg of New Ulm, Minn., Wanda (Keith) Guelzow of Portage and Randall (Kathleen) Mode of Elk Grove Village, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Mae Palm of Helenville; and brother, Warren (Rosalie) Walther of Helenville.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Wayne Mueller officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Frederick ‘Jack’ Pederson
LAKE MILLS — Frederick “Jack” Pederson, 85, Lake Mills, died Friday, March 16, 2012, at the Willowbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lake Mills.
He was born in the town of Exeland. He lived a modest life and worked on his mother’s farm.
He enlisted early in life in the U.S. Navy serving in World War II in the South Pacific/PT23 and Okinawa C.B. MU.541 from 1944-1946.
In 1947, he married the love of his life, Francis M. Laatsch, in Jefferson. She died Feb. 4, 2005.
Jack worked as a self-taught home builder for 23 years. He was the first in the area to join the Lake Mills Lumber Yard Company. This gave him the full-range ability to do building and remodeling. He then pursued a career with Amwood Homes of Janesville. After retiring, Jack took on a part-time job for 16 years driving a school bus for Lakeside Lutheran High School, the job he loved most.
Jack’s many hobbies included spending time at his cottage in northern Wisconsin, hunting (all), fishing and just being outdoors. In Lake Mills, he did many woodcrafts in his famous garage. His love for gambling took him many places.
He is survived by his daughters, Pamela (Ron) Huber of Janesville and Debera Yoder of Fort Atkinson; seven grandchildren, Timothy (Debbie) Soellner, Stacie (friend Ryan Lawrenz) Soellner, Robert (Jennifer) Huber, Phillip (Torrie) Huber, Diana Riffe, Matt (Jessica) Riffe and Katelyn Riffe; three great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, Doris (Bill) Pieper and Shirley (Don) Savina; and one stepsister, Carol Pedersen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Pedersen and Lois V. Woods; two brothers, Robert and Cecil; one half-brother, Richard; two sisters, Esther and Jean; and a niece, Connie.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Claussen Funeral Home in Lake Mills. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home until the time of services.
Private graveside burial will be on Monday at the Rock Lake Cemetery.
