Judy Ann Thiede

Judy Ann Thiede

The Lord in his wisdom peacefully called home to heaven his dearly loved child, Judy Ann Thiede, on Friday, May 24, 2019.

She was born Feb. 19, 1941, in Clintonville, to Walter and Christine Marie Rohm. There she met and married Ronald Buchberger on June 13, 1959, until his death from ALS in 1983. After a short time in Beloit, they moved to Watertown in 1968 where she spent the remainder of her life. Judy was subsequently united in marriage with Ken Thiede on Nov. 10, 1984, at the Watertown Moravian Church.

Judy was a long standing member of Christ United Methodist of Watertown where she used her musical talents singing in the choir for many years. Judy worked for Eaton Corp. in Watertown for over 20 years. She also worked at the Candle Glo Motel for a number of years.

Judy loved her family and friends, and treasured time with children, grandchildren and eventually great-grandchildren. She loved to visit and laugh, had a great sense of humor and was well known for catching people off-guard with things she observed and said.

Judy is survived by her husband, Ken Thiede; brother, Thom (Judy) Rohm of Renton, Washington, and their family; her three children, Rhonda (Mark) Wagner and children, Justin, Jacob, Bethany, Brittany, Jordan; Beth (Russ) Klatt and children Josiah and Mara; Brad Buchberger and his four daughters, Jade, Jasmine, Linsey, Lexi; and Ken's children, Mark (Dawn) Thiede and family; Cheryl Thiede and Michelle Thiede. She is further survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Ronald Buchberger.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Christ United Methodist Church, 112 Hall St. in Watertown, with the Rev. Jeffrey Meyer officiating. Family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 1-2 p.m. A private interment will be held at Glenview Memorial Gardens at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Rainbow Hospice or Christ United Methodist Church. Special thanks to the staff at Dycora and Rainbow Hospice. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.hafemeisterfh.com.

Her family and friends are grateful for the blessing she was in their lives and for the assurance of Christian faith which draws its strength from the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. While hearts hurt with such a loss, joy remains with the confidence that those who fall asleep in faith will receive the crown of righteousness.

John 14:1-3, 6 Jesus said, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am… I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
