WATERLOO -- Darrell Sullivan, 81, of Waterloo, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at his home.
Darrell was born on Nov. 19, 1936, in the town of Portland, the son of Guy and Violet (Gulseth) Sullivan. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957-59. He married Marlyne "Molly" McGovern on Nov. 18, 1961, and the two enjoyed 56 years together. Darrell and his wife were members of the Waterloo Snowmobile Club and were known for grooming the trails and fixing the equipment for numerous years. You could always find him tinkering with things in his shop. After retirement he enjoyed camping, pontooning and fishing. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Darrell is survived by wife Molly Sullivan of Waterloo; children Tim (Kelly) of Waterloo, Jeff of South Wayne and Mike (Kris) of Waterloo; grandchildren Connie (Aaron), Justin, Bryon (Ashley Riege), Jeremy (Sarah), Caden, Madisen and Douglas; great-grandchildren Nikomi, Jayden, Layla, Henry and Damon; brother Gene of Waterloo; sisters Jane (Wayne) Miller of Traverse City, Michigan, and Debra (Dan) Raemisch of Lodi. Darrell is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Eddie, daughter Lauri, granddaughter Gracie Jo in infancy, sister Dona and brother James.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Holy Family Parish in Waterloo with Father Jorge Miramontes presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be in the Washington Cemetery in the town of Portland.
