Irene D. Gerloff, 85, of Watertown, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Marquardt Health Center.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home with Father Patrick Wendler officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of service. Innichement at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery will be held at a later date. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to St. Bernard Tuition Aid Fund or Staff Appreciation Fund at Marquardt Memorial Manor. Irene Doris Garber was born on Aug. 30, 1933, to Henry and Irene (nee Keller) Garber in Chicago. On Aug. 30, 1952, she married Phillip Gerloff at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Burlington. Irene was a devoted wife and mother; Phil's happiness was her happiness. She enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, bird feeding, going to the casino and bowling in her younger years. Irene enjoyed fishing in Hayward where she lived for over 20 years.
She is survived by her children, John (Teresa) Gerloff of Watertown, Bill (Liz) Gerloff of Green Bay, Irene Gerloff of Shawano; grandchildren, Jerry, Christa, Tom, Callie; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Lois (Fred) Ruppert, Shirley (Ken) Kaspar; brother-in-law, Gordy Modrak; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Phillip Gerloff; her parents; sister: Carol Modrak; brother-in-law, Ralph Gerloff; daughter-in-law, Marie Gerloff.
