LARGO, Fla. -- James Thomas Barry, 71, Largo, formerly of Watertown, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019, with family by his side.
He was born and raised in Watertown and graduated WHS class of 1966. From there, he enlisted into the United States Air Force. After his discharge, Jim pursued various career opportunities including sales, management and owning his own business. Throughout his lifetime, he was always looking to expand his horizons and was not afraid to take on new challenges. He was always able to carry a great conversation with anyone, as he knew a little bit of something of just about everything. He will be remembered for what he considered to be the finer things in life, including a good steak dinner, a dry martini on the rocks (with an olive, of course), watching a weekend NASCAR race and classic James Bond movies.
He was predeceased by his mother, Ruth (nee Imming) Barry, and father, James T. Barry.
He leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Kathryn; son, Brendan (Sara) Barry, Clearwater; four sisters, Kathleen (Bob) Brandenstein, Maureen Brom, Michele Klingbeil and Anne Weers; several nieces and nephews; numerous extended family members and friends, and his beloved dog, Bear.
In honoring Jim's request, no formal services will be held. Contributions, if desired, may be made to a charity of one's choice. Additional information and online guestbook may be accessed at www.nationalcremation.com.
