Richard A. Allermann, 71, of Watertown, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019, surrounded by family.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home with the Rev. David Groth officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of service. A graveside burial with military honors will be held at a later date. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Richard Allen Allermann was born on June 20, 1948, to Harold "Bud" and Gerda (nee Strom) Allermann in Watertown. He was a 1966 graduate of Watertown High School. On October 18, 1980, Richard married the former Kathleen Phillips at Good Shepherd in Watertown. Richard was a faithful member of the United States Marines and was active during Vietnam and Desert Storm. He later joined the United States National Guard in Watertown, Army Reserve in Milwaukee, Marine Corps League in Watertown and the American Legion in Watertown. Richard was an instructor teaching Nuclear Biological Chemical during his later years in the military. He enjoyed war and western movies, military history, fishing, traveling, the Cubs and the Packers, and spending quality time with his grandchildren and family.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathleen Allermann; children, Erik (Erica) Allermann of Watertown and Aaron Allermann of Watertown; grandchildren, Mason Allermann, Austin Allermann and Addison Allermann; siblings, Stephen (Lucy) Allermann and Linda Allermann; three nieces and a nephew, other relatives and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and a stepson, Jason Phillips.
