HUSTISFORD — Dennis L. Anderson, of Hustisford, passed away Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at the age of 66. He was born June 6, 1946, in Fort Atkinson, the son of Clayton and Jeanette (nee Backes) Anderson. Dennis graduated from Whitewater High School and attended UW-Whitewater and Madison studying math and physics. He retired from Xerox after more than 40 years. Dennis was a gifted musician who loved music. He was a Sunday school superintendent, served on the church council, was a past choir director and directed the hand chimes choir. Dennis was a past member of the Hartford Community Chorus and the Dodge County Community Band. He enjoyed weekends at Sky High Camping Resort in Portage. In his spare time he was a DJ, but became Hustisford’s claim to fame as a founding member of “The Beach Bums Band.”
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Jill (nee Ninmann) Anderson; his children, Jena (Barry) Anderberg of Minnesota, Rhiannon (Daniel) Berger of Minnesota; Lani (Jason) Rupaner of Milwaukee, Jacob (Heidi) Anderson of Hustisford and Evan Anderson of Hustisford, three grandchildren, Graham, Owen and Kendall and his sister Denise (Daniel) Kuehl of Hustisford. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, from 4-7 p.m. at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, N4911 Gray Road, Hustisford and Friday from 9-10 a.m., also at the church. Funeral services will follow at the church at 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Dean Natterstad will officiate. Interment Hustisford Cemetery.

Viola C. Decker
PORTAGE — Viola C. Decker, 92, of Portage and formerly of Waterloo and Columbus, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Tivoli at Divine Savior Healthcare in Portage.
Viola Carolina was born the daughter of Emerson and Elsie (Vogel) Baumgartner on July 14, 1920, in Lime Springs, Iowa. She was married to Charles E. Decker on Oct. 25, 1940, in Cresco, Iowa. Viola was born and raised in Iowa and following her marriage she and her husband farmed in Iowa. On Dec. 26, 1958, they moved to Wisconsin and continued to farm until her husband’s death in 1969. In 1981, she moved to Columbus. Viola was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Waterloo.
Viola is survived by her three sons, George (Karen) Decker of Fall River, Charles (Janell) Decker of Waterloo, and Jerry (Ronda) Decker of Wisconsin Dells; her sister, Adeline Jones of Wyocena; her brother, Marvin Baumgartner of Vinton, Iowa; her sisters-in-law, Opal Baumgartner of Rio and Leona Baumgartner of Des Moines, Iowa; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles; three brothers, Raymond, Gaylord and Emery, her sister, Geneva, her brother-in-law, Clark Jones and a sister-in-law, Murleen Baumgartner.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at St. John Lutheran Church in Waterloo with the Rev. Thomas Wilsmann officiating. A visitation will also be held on Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church. Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Waterloo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church and School in Waterloo, or to the American Cancer Society.
