June 13, 1954 - October 26, 2019
Watertown -- Gary W. Lenius, 65, of Watertown, recently entered into his heavenly home on October 26, 2019, meeting those before him, leaving behind others, but open arms to both. Gary William Lenius was born on June 13, 1954 in Watertown, the son of William and Marvel (nee Hensler) Lenius. He attended St. Mark's Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Watertown High School. Gary farmed in the Town of Shields his entire life. Gary was one of those people with a huge heart of gold. He was always willing to help out family, friends and neighbors. His humor and teasing will be missed by all. Gary had five loves: his faith, his farm, his family, new adventures with relatives and John Deere Tractors.
He is survived by his sister, Sandy Sykes; nieces, Tammy Chamberlain and Kimberly (Jeffery) Combs; nephew, Brian Sykes; great-nieces and nephews, Zachary, Hadley, Iona, Gavin and Isla as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, James Sykes.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Karl Walther officiating. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown. Family and friends may gather at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or the family of Gary would be appreciated. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.hafemeisterfh.com.
