John R. “Jack” Erdmann, 83, of Watertown, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019, at Watertown Regional Medical Center.
Jack was born on Jan. 20, 1936, in Watertown, the son of Alfred and Elsie (Miller) Erdmann. He married the love of his life, Shelby Jean Krueger, on Feb. 15, 1958, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown and the couple enjoyed 61 years of marriage. Jack worked for Brandt for many years before becoming a Watertown Chamber executive for 11 years before his retirement. In Jack’s free time he was involved with the Boy Scouts Troop 11, restoring old cars, spending time outdoors fishing and hunting, and became a very talented woodcarver. Above all, Jack enjoyed being with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
Jack is survived by his wife, Shelby; sons Scott (Jodi) Erdmann of Watertown and Kim Erdmann of Oconomowoc; three grandchildren: Kevin, Katie (Aaron) and Andrew (Mandy); three great-grandchildren: August, Gwen and Beckett. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service for Jack will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Rodney Warnecke presiding. A visitation will take place at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will immediately follow at Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown.
