Shari A. Winton, age 67, of Watertown passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 29, 2012, at her home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, at 11 a.m., at the Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown with Rev. Ron Kral officiating. Burial will be at the Watertown Moravian Cemetery in Watertown. Relatives and friends may call at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to the family or to the Christ United Methodist Church.

The former Shari Ann Sprenger was born on Feb. 17, 1945, in Jefferson, the daughter of Edward and Tekla (Sydow) Sprenger. Shari was a 1963 graduate of the Watertown High School and a graduate of the Illinois Valley Community College with a registered nursing degree.
On April 12, 1969, she married her lifetime companion, Don Winton at the Watertown Moravian Church. Shari had been employed as a registered nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Streator, Ill., and at Bethesda Lutheran Home and Marquardt Memorial Manor, both in Watertown. Shari was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown. She loved to go up to Northern Wisconsin to fish with her parents when she was a little girl. She enjoyed and loved spending every minute she could, right up to her last day with her family, especially her grandchildren. Shari was the rock of the family, the absolute center that made everyone whole. She devoted her life to helping others, even complete strangers. Shari loved working in her many flower gardens, putting puzzles together and reading.
Shari is survived by her three children, Jeffrey (Terri) Winton of Jacksonville, Fla.; Thomas Winton of Watertown and Jill (Randy Rickerman) Noyce of Watertown; her very special niece, Julie Winton of Amelia, Va.; her two grandsons, Noah Noyce and Wesley Orion Winton; a brother, Larry Sprenger of Mercer, other relatives and friends.
Shari was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don, on Feb. 8, 2012; her father and mother-in-law, Orville and Ida Winton; her sister and brother in-law, Joan and Ralph Winton; a sister-in-law, Marion Sprenger and a special friend, Joyce Siebold.

JOHNSON CREEK — Joyce M. Matzinger, 93, formerly of Johnson Creek, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at the Golden LivingCenter in Watertown.
Joyce was born on Jan. 20, 1919, in Menomonee, Mich., the daughter of Andrew and Celestine (Brabant) Michelsen. She was a graduate of Iron Mountain High School in Michigan. She married Kenneth Matzinger on Sept. 11, 1939, in Hubbard Woods, Ill. Joyce worked as a cook and waitress at many different restaurants and bakeries. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Johnson Creek. Joyce loved cooking, dancing and playing cards. She is a former member of the Watertown Senior Center.
Survivors include, four children, C. Norman (Betty) Matzinger of Johnson Creek, Emily (John) Hawkins of Kailua, Hawaii; Lauri (Jana) Matzinger of Durham, N.C., and Earl (Colette) Matzinger of Milwaukee; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth on Oct. 22, 1999; sister, Eleanor and great-granddaughter, Alexis Beckstrom. Memorials to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., on Friday, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Johnson Creek with Father David Wanish presiding. Visitation will be held on Friday 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
