CLYMAN -- Jarod M. VonRueden, age 22, of Clyman, passed away doing what he loved most on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, while climbing Mt. Aconcagua in Mendoza, Argentina.
A memorial Mass celebrating the life of Jarod will held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church with Father Rick Wendell celebrating. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Jarod Michael VonRueden was born on April 5, 1991, in Watertown, the son of Peter and Renee (Tokkesdal) VonRueden. He was a 2009 graduate of Watertown High School and he furthered his education at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha and Baraboo. Jarod was actively involved in helping manage the family business, U Call We Haul. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and the Lebanon EMS.
Jarod was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend to many. He lived life to the fullest; teaching us to put others ahead of ourselves, make the most of every day we are given, put life in our years and laugh often through his example. Jarod was an avid mountain climber, pilot and adventurer. His many adventures will live on through those who he inspired to not only dream, but to achieve.
Jarod is survived by his parents Peter and Renee, his brother Aaron, maternal grandparents Rudy and Joyce Tokkesdal, paternal grandparents Wilma VonRueden and Richard and Judy VonRueden. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his aunt, Doris Tokkesdal and his great-grandparents.
