MARSHALL -- The Lord called Wayne Essmann to his home in heaven on May 31, 2015. He was born in Lewiston, Minn., on April 2, 1937, the son of Alvin and Sadie (Rusert) Essmann. He was baptized and confirmed in St. John Lutheran Church in Lewiston. He attended St. John Lutheran School for the first eight years of his education and then attended Lewiston High School where he graduated.
Robert J. "Bob" Richter of Watertown, age 80, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015, at Marquardt Health Center. He was born on May 16, 1935, in Watertown, the son of Herbert and Leana (Meitner) Richter. Bob was a farmer in the town of Emmet. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, Catholic Knights, AARP and the Watertown Senior and Community Center. Bob married Elaine Hassler on Feb. 5, 2005 at St. Bernard Catholic Church.
BRODHEAD -- David G. "Grandpa Dave" LaBorde, 61, of Brodhead, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, May 25, 2015, surrounded by his wife and daughters. He ended his battle with small-cell lung cancer after fighting for over a year and a half.
Lois V. Loveng, of Watertown, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at UW Hospital, Madison. She was born on Oct. 28, 1931, in La Crosse, the daughter of Fred and Elsie (Selebrede) Yandt. Lois married Wilfred Loveng on Nov. 28, 1951. They were able to share 34 loving years together before his death on Oct. 9, 1986. Lois worked at the former Kusel Hardware store as well as Paul's Dress Shop. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, American Legion Post No. 189 Auxiliary and a former volunteer at Marquardt Health Center. Additionally, Lois was blessed to see the world and she traveled extensively including a supersonic flight to London on the Concorde jet, and an Atlantic cruise home on the famous QE2.
OCONOMOWOC — The Rev. Don Ray Gephart, age 82, of Oconomowoc, peacefully joined the presence of God on Monday, May 18, 2015. Don is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Phyllis; sister, Jean Emmons of Centreville, Va.; children, Paul (Lori) Gephart of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; Tim (Gail) Gephart of Mayville, Mark (Glinda) Gephart of Oconomwoc and Joel (Laura) Gephart of Oconomowoc.
Theresa J. Hamilton, 84, of Sun Prairie, formerly of Waterloo, passed away on May 10, 2015. Theresa was born on Sept. 9, 1930, in Dodgeville, the daughter of Thomas and Genevieve (Schaff) Burke. She was a graduate of Mineral Point High School.
LuAnn M. Lauersdorf, 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2015, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous fight with cancer. What kept her strong in her fight was her faith and family.
Dr. William Snook, beloved physician, 87, joined that great cloud of witnesses as described in Hebrews 12 on Wednesday, May 6, 2015. He was born July 30, 1927, in Streator, Ill., to Harry Guilford Snook and Lucile Gibler Snook. The family lived in Chicago, then moved to Freeport, Ill., where he entered Freeport High School in 1941. From 1942-43, his family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, where his father worked as a draftsman at the Naval Air Station. The family returned to Freeport, in 1944, and he graduated from Freeport High School in 1945, and then served in the Army in Panama from 1945-47.
JEFFERSON -- Du Wayne "Dewey" M. Springer, 83, of Jefferson, passed away Thursday May 7, 2015, at his home in Jefferson. He was born on Aug. 2, 1931, in Edgar, son of the late Michael and Annastaisa (Kowalewski) Springer.
Gordon S. Miller, 70, of Watertown, passed from the loving arms of his family into the blessed arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, following a courageous battle with cancer at his home.
