Johnson Creek Legion holds, sets events

JOHNSON CREEK -- A Memorial Day ceremony was held May 27 at Veterans Park in Johnson Creek.

Johnson Creek American Legion members expressed appreciation to the Johnson Creek high school band, guest speaker Julie Muhle, ladies auxiliary, the Post 305 rifle squad, Mike Ninmann, Chris Blakey and Kristi Vaughn, along with the police department and Department of Public Works.

Tim Cromey and Tim Dettmann were awarded 50-year certificates of membership in the American Legion. David Schultz was also recognized. Wayne Zegadlo was recognized as Post 305 Legionnaire of the Year.

Mark Jaeger made a monetary donation and Randy and Cindy Else donated a new lawnmower to the post.

Badger Bank picked up the cost for the Memorial Day raffle tickets. Ticket winners are as follows: Chad Hayes, $400; Sharon Kleinhans, $250; Louie Stallmann, $150; Antonia Hake, $100; Les Keeser, $75; Dawn Maier, $50; Bob Orval, $50; Julie Higgins, $50.

The next Legion meeting will be held Monday at 7 p.m.
