Open gym basketball — Open gym basketball is for people high school age and older. It is held on Wednesdays at Watertown High School gymnasium. The gym is open on Wednesdays from 7:30-9 p.m. Program fee is $2/drop in or $20/season pass. Check in with gym attendant. Shower facilities are not available. You must change from street shoes to basketball shoes prior to entering the gym.

Winter Fun Day — Sign up children for winter fun Dec. 14 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Watertown Senior & Community Center. The group will be decorating cookies, doing crafts, playing games, coloring, having a trivia contest and lunch. Registration is open to children 6-12 years. Cost is $20/child city resident, $30/child non-city resident and $5/additional child. Must preregister. Lifeguard class — This class is a must for all who are interested in becoming a lifeguard. Registration is currently being accepted and all registration materials including prerequisite requirements are available at the office and online. Participants must be 15 by the completion of this class. Class dates are Jan. 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 2020 plus additional independent coursework is done online outside of class time. Fee is $200. Grants are available- contact the office for details. The required manual for the course is available online, but if a print copy is desired, there is a $40 fee. Registration deadline is January 8, 2020, and the course is filled on a first-come-first-serve basis. Basketball coaches wanted — The department is in need of coaches for 5th Grade Boys and Girls Basketball, which is held one or two weekdays per week after school, 3:30-5 p.m. in December/January. Salary is $10/hour. Applications should be turned in at the Park and Rec Office and can be found online at www.ci.watertown.wi.us or picked up at the Park and Rec Office.

Watertown High School intramural basketball — High school students will organize their own teams. Cost is $20/player. Registration material is available on the city’s website, online https://watertownwi.recdesk.com/Community/Program, Park & Rec office or the WHS Athletic Office. All materials are due on Dec. 11. There will be a captains meeting on Dec. 16 at 3:20 p.m. at the Watertown High School lecture hall. League will begin in January.

Ballet, tap and dance — The department offers this program on Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays beginning the week of Jan. 6. A variety of levels are offered beginning with three year olds. Register online at https://watertownwi.recdesk.com/Community/Program or at the Park and Rec Office.

Winter swim lessons — Classes are set to begin the week of Jan. 13 and end 8 weeks later during the week of March 2. Registration for this program begins Dec. 9. Mail in, drop off of the registration form – must include a self-addressed stamped envelope to receive a confirmation of lessons (fee must accompany each registration); or 3. In-person at the Park & Rec office. All registration materials are available either online or at the department office.

January half-session of swim lessons — The department is offering a half-session (4 weeks) of swim lessons on Saturday mornings, beginning Jan. 4 and ending Jan. 25. Time choices offered will be 9-9:35 a.m., 9:40-10:15 a.m. and 10:20-10:55 a.m. A variety of class choices will be offered. Fees are $14 for city residents and $21 for non-city residents and are due at the time of registration. Registration for this program begins Dec. 9. Registration priority is as follows: 1.
