Building permit totals issued by the city of Watertown in September totaled  more than $1 million for the fifth month this year, according to information from the city’s building inspection department.

The city issued permits valued at $1,446,722.44 in September, down from the $14,240,300 issued in August. The August total included the $14 million renovation to the Watertown Regional Medical Center. The total value of permits issued to date this year is now at $31,473,440.44.

The largest permit in September was issued to WDS Construction to build a Slumberland furniture store at 1940 Market Way.

Other permits were issued to:

Granzow Home Improvement to build a deck at 1412 Davis St.; Loos Custom Homes to build a new home at 1422 Stoneridge Drive; Culbreth Remodeling for tenant alterations at 101 E. Main St.; Gregory Hinze to renew a building permit at 1416 Country Club Lane; AG Contractors to build a home addition and deck at 1000 N. Water St.; Fred Schroeder to build a pergola at 601 Maple Crest Lane; James Schmidt for front steps at 1045 N. Fourth St.; Everdry Waterproofing for basement waterproofing and foundation at 514 N. Montgomery St.; John Mock to build a detached garage at 126 W. Spaulding St.; Badger Basement for outside foundation piers at 511 Oak Park Ave.

Badger Basement to install interior drainage tile system at 421 Janet Lane; Badger Basement to install interior basement drainage at 115 N. Tenth St. GE Mallow Builders for footings and walls at 760 W. Main St.; Dave Jaeger to repair balcony railing at 112 1/2 N. Third St.; Jerry Hackbarth to build a deck at 512 Country Aire Court; Randall Schultz to build an addition to a shed at 452 S. Concord Ave.; Darin Schmidt to build a shed at 533 Autumn Crest Drive; Jonathan Zilke to install an egress window at 912 Crestview Drive; Kurtis and Lisa Larsen to build a shed at 1208 S. Third St.; John Thoma to build new stairs for an upper apartment at 1216 E. Main St.; Goodman Construction to remodel a porch at 520 College Ave.; Goodman Construction to remodel the downstairs at 210 Cole St.

Matthew Atkinson to build a closet at 513 S. Sixth St.; Gene Gehler to remodel a garage at 1419 S. Third St.; Scott and Carol Quest to build new front and back decks at 1220 Allerman Drive; Doug Bubewitz to build a shed at 1027 Boughton St.; Peirick Custom Construction to repair a front porch at 500 S. Third St.; Kent Kowalske to build a deck at 305 S. Warren St.; GAF Construction to build a back porch at 122 N. Concord Ave.; Diane Elftman to build a shed at 1400 Utah St.; Paul Barnes to build a detached garage and workshop at 942 Liberty Lane; and Thoma Construction to remodel a kitchen at 706 Milford St.
