The Fourth of July Parade Committee has named the trophy and award winners for the Fourth of July parade floats. Trophies and cash prizes were awarded to the top five floats.


Council to vote on rail plan
A resolution supporting passenger rail service to Watertown will be considered by the Watertown Common Council when it meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the council chambers of the Watertown Municipal Building.

Child is hurt from fireworks
FARMINGTON - A Helenville boy was in critical condition this morning at a Milwaukee hospital after sustaining a head injury in a fireworks accident Saturday at approximately 10 p.m. at W3382 Sunshine Road in the town of Farmington.

Jefferson County Fair kicks off Wednesday
JEFFERSON - This year's Jefferson County Fair, the county's 157th, kicks off Wednesday, and promises fun for all ages with entertainment offerings including musical performances by national musical acts Travis Tritt and Kenny Wayne Shepherd on Friday and Saturday, respectively. There will also be free-style motocross stunt-riding, Robinson's Paddling Porkers and a county fair kids' day.
