OCONOMOWOC — The Oconomowoc Toastmasters held a speech contest, including a table topics contest when it met Feb. 6 at the Aurora Medical Center. Vice President Ted Fuller opened the meeting and Ellen Bohn was the contest chair.

The first speech contestant was Donna Fuller with Man’s Best Friend. She shared the joys and challenges of having two dogs and how they have trained their humans.

The second speech contestant was Mark Brewer with his speech, Momentum. Brewer motivated the audience.

The contestants for the Table Topics contest were Bohn, Mary Tylicki and Brewer.

Each contestant had to give a 2-3-minute impromptu speech on the same topic. Joan Genske was the table topics chair and supplied the question, “Who was the must influential person in your life and why?”

Since this was a contest night there were no formal evaluations.

Brewer was the winning speaker and will compete at the Area B3 contest tentatively set for March 14 at the Muskego Public Library. Winning the table topics competition was Tylicki.

The next meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 at the Aurora Medical Center in Oconomowoc in the conference room 1H1 Pabst. Guests are welcome.
