LEBANON -- Immanuel Lutheran Lebanon is holding its 175th anniversary celebration with a piano and organ celebration concert presented by Levi Henkel set for 7 p.m. June 21.

Henkel grew up in Watertown studying piano with Susan Henniger and and organ with Monica Stegner. He served the congregations of Fellowship, First Baptist, St. Bernard and St. Henys. Henkel coordinated the Watertown Choral Festival in 2013 and Easter Sunrise Service in 2015. He is the winner of multiple Euterpe Scholarships. Henkel received a bachelor of music from Wheaton College and a Master of Divinity from Southern Seminary. He is pursuing a doctorate in worship from the Institute of Worship Studies. Henkel is a music pastor with his wife Anna (Wolhaupter) in Louisville, Kentucky. He is the son of Larry and Linda Henkel.

Bill Edington will accompany Henkel on two pieces and has been performing on trumpet in the greater Watertown area since 1978. He has held the position of principal trumpet in the Watertown Area Chamber Orchestra since its inception more than 30 years ago; and the Watertown Municipal Band, Main Street Big Band of Lake Mills, the 1st Brigade Band and the Yankee Dutchmen Solar Powered Precision Marching Band for more than 20 years.

Edington has appeared with many area performing organizations and was the featured soloist for the opening of the Beaver Dam High School Auditorium in 1990. He served as the Johnson Creek High School Band Director for 18 years and has been active with the Watertown Players Theatre for several years.

Henkel's program will consist of various numbers on both the piano and pipe organ, which include Carillon De Westminster, "Trumpet Tune" accompanied by Edington on trumpet, "Black or White," "Meditation on Beach Spring," "Prayer of St. Gregory" also with Edington on trumpet, "Fairest Lord Jesus," "Holy, Holy, Holy," and "For Spacious Skies," a patriotic piano/organ duet accompanied by Lynn Baumann on piano.

The public is invited to attend this concert and is a free will offering event. Reception and refreshments available after the concert.
