JANESVILLE -- Blain's Farm & Fleet, with a store in Watertown, has been recognized on Forbes magazine's 2019 list of America's Best Mid-Size Employers.

The list, released annually, is based on extensive research in which Forbes seeks to discover which U.S. companies are the most successful at making their employees "feel happy, inspired and well-compensated."

"More than 60 years ago my family founded Blain's Farm & Fleet with the understanding that our associates would be our highest priority," Jane Blain Gilbertson, president and CEO of Blain's Farm & Fleet, said. "Our core mission is to treat our associates like family and our customers like neighbors. Many of our associates stay with us for decades. As a company we know how important it is to invest in our associates, the people who invest so much of their lives in Blain's Farm & Fleet. Of course we're proud to receive this honor again, but we're even more proud that its source is our associates themselves, who believe their 'work family' deserves this award."

The list represents the top 500 midsize companies -- those with between 1,000 and 5,000 employees. It was compiled by surveying more than 50,000 employees across 25 industries. The surveys were conducted anonymously through online panels to ensure employee opinions were free of any company influence. Blain's Farm & Fleet was ranked No. 293 in America and No. 13 in Wisconsin.

According to Dennis Armstrong, chief human resources officer at Blain's Farm & Fleet, "We have created an engaging family business culture where associates enjoy working here with each other, their managers and our customers. We have numerous cases of associates growing their careers here from sales associates to managers to senior leadership and have many multigenerations of family members working at Blain's Farm & Fleet."

Blain's Farm & Fleet employs more than 4,000 associates in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa and Michigan. Blain's Farm & Fleet also has an e-commerce business at FarmandFleet.com, delivering throughout the U.S.
