Edgerton boys defeat Jefferson

JEFFERSON - Edgerton senior forward Bryan Gregory scored nine of his 33 points in the fourth quarter, helping the Crimson Tide pull away for a 53-40 Rock Valley Conference victory over Jefferson Thursday.

The game was close through three quarters as Edgerton led by a 39-37 count headed to the fourth. Gregory scored nine points to help the Crimson Tide extend its lead and outscore the Eagles 14-5 in the fourth to take the victory.

“He is a good player,” Jefferson coach Jay Benish said. “He posts strong and we doubled him and it worked for three quarters. Well, it didn't really work, he had 24 points, but we were within 39-35 after three quarters before his nine points helped them pull away. We missed some shots and he made some.”

Jefferson senior guard Trevor Probst led Jefferson (0-2 overall 0-1 RVC) with 21 points and five rebounds. Junior guard Tyler Tomczak added eight points in the loss.

The Eagles play at Whitewater Tuesday.
