Fall festival planned

The annual Watertown Fall Festival will return to the downtown area on Oct. 4 with activities for people of all ages.
A number of vendors will be lined down Main Street throughout the day and several activities will be held at The Market Specialty Mall on South Water Street.
Cactus Charlie, a two-time world champion trick roper with Take Two Productions, will perform at The Market in a Wild West Show with a cast of costumed characters. The event will include rope spinning, gun twirling and whip cracking.
Dragon Heart Ranch will demonstrate how horses are trained for movie stunts in the Liberty Horse Show. Horses will also be on hand for younger children to ride.
The horse shows are free and run for about 30 minutes. The shows begin at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Hay bale seating will be available in the parking lot across from The Market.
Food will be sold by The Cobblestone Restaurant and hamburgers, chicken sandwiches and Italian sausages will be available in the Water Street courtyard where area musicians will perform throughout the day.
Maranatha Baptist Bible College students will be at The Market for bubble wands, face painting and story time. The event also features a make and take scarecrow tent sponsored by teens with St. Henry's parish.
The Watertown Main Street Program will also be holding a Fall Festival Scarecrow Contest. Each entry costs $10 and the winners will be given chamber gift certificates.
The day's events also includes make ‘n take crafts, autumn treats, an apple recipe contest, produce and fall foliage, a wine tasting, painted pumpkins and a petting zoo at AFP Pets. Hat Creek Candle Co. and Berres Brothers Coffee Roasters will be giving tours.
