June Olejniczak

June G. Olejniczak, 74, of Watertown, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her family on Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at her home. June waged a courageous and mercifully short battle with cancer. She surrendered her spirit with dignity in the presence of her children, grandchildren, family and friends.

June was born in Green Bay on Jan. 13, 1934, daughter of Clyde and Gladys (Kollman) Weycker. She was a 1952 graduate of Amberg High School. On June 12, 1954, she was joined in holy matrimony to Roger Olejni-czak, also of Green Bay.

June cared for numerous local residents as a personal aide and was employed as a nursing assistant at St. Joseph's Home for several years. Her two dogs, Guapo and Coset, filled her last years with joy, amusement and companionship.

June was an avid traveler, enjoyed trips to Alaska, England and the Caribbean. She and Roger made frequent automobile journeys to Atlanta, Ga., to visit with their daughter, Kim and her family. Most of all, June relished her numerous jaunts to bingo halls and casinos with her friends, children and grandchildren.

She was an avid reader and learned to navigate computers and the Internet in her later years. Her home was her castle, and as queen of that castle, she ruled benevolently, inviting friends and family to share in the beautiful view of the brickyard pond from her back porch. The love she had for Watertown and the many people who touched her life here gave her a wonderful sense of belonging to this community. June was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Watertown.

Among those June left behind to continue their earthly journey are two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Rob Anda of Peachtree City, Ga., and Kelly and Kyle Bergdoll of Watertown; three sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Mary Jo and Mitchell “Mick,” all of Watertown, and Neil and Stacey of Green Bay; grandchildren, Erin and Quentin Bergdoll, Cullen, Nathan and Bret Olejniczak, Kelsey and Will Anda, Andrea (Patrick) Amel and Jared Olejniczak, Olivia and Ben Block; a great-grandson, William Amel; her brothers, Clyde (Diane), Byron (Jan) and Larry (Marian) Weycker; her sister, Jean (James) Routhieaux; sisters-in-law, Carole (Ken) Weinhauer, Tina (Gerry) Seifert and Judy (Paul) LaBonte; and brothers-in-law, Larry (Judy) Olejniczak and Dick (Betty) Olen. Also surviving are her aunts, Helen Chartier and Ruth (Barney) Farah. She leaves behind her special friends, Terri and Ken Wei-densee, Colleen Sinder-mann, Bonnie Tietz and many other “angels” that provided friendship, support and care especially during her illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger on April 30, 2002; and a brother-in-law, Gerry Seifert.

A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. Ber-nard's Catholic Church in Watertown with Father Thomas Marr presiding.

Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the church on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

Special thanks to Dr. Eastman, Karen and Jan at the UW Health Oncology Clinic in Johnson Creek, Dr. Terry Turke and Rainbow Hospice Care.

“A softer heart has ne'er been found,

“God saw that you were

getting tired

when a cure was not to be.

So he closed his arms around you

and whispered,

‘Come to me.'

You didn't deserve

what you went through

and so he gave you rest.

be beautiful,

He only takes the best.

And when I saw
