July 4 festivities are scheduled



Although the city experienced flooding problems earlier in the month, the Fourth of July festivities will go on as planned.

The events for the week will kick off at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Riverside Park with rides provided by Chippewa Valley Rides.

American Legion events are open on Thursday from 4 to 11 p.m. and the wristband special for rides will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Music will be provided by the Screamin' Nighthawks from 7 to 11 p.m.

Following the Fourth of July parade on Friday, the band Classic Memories will play from 1 to 5 p.m. and 45 RPM will perform from 7 to 11 p.m.

On Saturday the craft fair and flea market will be held near the bandshell from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Rides will operate from noon to 11 p.m., with wristband specials from noon to 4 p.m. The Variations will play from 7 to 11 p.m. and the fireworks show will start at 9:45 p.m.

The events on Sunday run from 11 a.m. to 10 a.m. and the rides will operate from noon to 10 p.m. The catch and release fish contest for those 17 years old and younger will be held from noon to 5 p.m. This event, which is co-sponsored by the Rock River Rescue Foundation, will be limited to the Riverside Park area. Cash prizes will be awarded. The Buzz Toyz are scheduled to perform from 6 to 10 p.m.

If it rains Saturday evening the fireworks show will he held on Sunday starting at 9:45 p.m.
