Cross Town Floors earns business honor

JOHNSON CREEK - At Monday's Jefferson Chamber of Commerce awards night, those attending were introduced to the 2008 Business of the Year Award winner, Cross Town Floors.

The Business of the Year Award goes to one of the chamber members whose business has been in existence for more than three years, has demonstrated the ability to overcome adversity, grown during its life and contributed to the community in some way.

“(Operator) Steve Cross has demonstrated strong support for the community - both financially and physically,” chamber officials said in presenting the award. “Cross Town Floors has suffered financial hardship during the state Highway 26 construction and even as recently as 2007 during the housing construction downturn. This year Steve renovated his business and began a new entity, serving individual flooring needs within their personal homes.”

Cross Town Floors has been a chamber member for the past 10 years.

Cross represents the Jefferson community and businesses through his service on the city council, chamber board, Jefferson Rotary and by belonging to other organizations over the years.
