American Cancer Society Daffodil Days planned

Watertown residents can fight back against cancer and share hope for those facing the disease by supporting the American Cancer Society Daffodil Days.
The long-standing program involves offering daffodils every spring to donors in appreciation for their contributions. For a donation of $8, anyone can receive a bouquet of fresh-cut daffodils.
The society has appointed Judy Lynch and Kay Christian, from Watertown Ace Hardware, as chairmen of Watertown's 2008 Daffodil Days campaign.
Lynch and Christian intend to raise awareness about cancer prevention, early detection and the many free services available in Watertown to help those facing the disease.
“I encourage everyone to help paint our community yellow with daffodils this spring to represent our commitment to preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from the disease,” said Christian. “We all have the power to make a difference for those facing cancer and their families. By giving daffodils, we are actually sharing hope.”
As the first flower of spring, the daffodil is the American Cancer Society's symbol of hope for a world free of cancer. Watertown Ace Hardware will coordinate all activities regarding the ordering and delivery of daffodils in Watertown.
In addition to daffodil bouquets, dainty daffodils, this year's new product, the popular bunch and a vase, and the sunshine bouquet are also available. This year also marks the addition of Bea R. Hope, a special Boyds' Bear designed exclusively for the American Cancer Society Daffodil Days bear and a bunch that is available for a donation of $25. The last day to place an order is Feb. 5.
