JEFFERSON - Jefferson County Board Chairwoman Sharon Schmeling has announced that she will be appointing Dr. Dwayne Morris as supervisor in the 7th District and James G. Maurer in the 13th District, each replacing Marv Munyon and Rex Weston, respectively. She will recommend the appointments at Tuesday's meeting of the Jefferson County Board of Supervisors.
According to Schmeling, Morris has lived in the district for several years and in Watertown for more than 25 years. He is on the faculty of Maranatha Baptist Bible College and has served on many governing committees there. Morris has also served as a volunteer coach in the Watertown Park and Recreation program. She said he comes highly recommended and has the endorsement of Munyon. If the board confirms the appointment, Morris will begin service immediately.
Schmeling said Maurer comes highly recommended, as well. He has served on the Lake Mills Planning and Zoning Committee, the police and fire commission, and is a firefighter and first responder. He is the vice president for government and external affairs for ATT in Wisconsin.
Munyon is stepping down from his position as supervisor because he is moving out of his district. Weston is also moving out of his district, making his resignation necessary.
