Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sugar Island with the Rev. Martin Stuebs officiating. Burial will be in Hustisford Village Cemetery.
Friends and relatives may call to pay their respects at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

The former Wilhelmina Eckert was born Feb. 8, 1913, in South Dakota, daughter of August and Olga (Tillmann) Eckert. She married Henry Gerdes on Nov. 9, 1932, in Wilmot, S.D. He preceded her in death in 1970. She married Clarence Strehlow on May 4, 1979 in Iron Ridge.
Wilhelmina was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sugar Island and a former member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge, St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Woodland and Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hustisford.
Wilhelmina lived in South Dakota until 1937, when she moved to Woodland, and later to Hustisford, Iron Ridge, Ashippun and Water-town.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Beatrice Eckert of Watertown, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence in 1996; four sisters, Emma Griener, Sophia Albert, Mae Ewert and Frieda Kleinheinz; and a brother, William Eckert.

CLYMAN - Stanley Szerbat of Clyman passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at the age of 82 years.
He is survived by his wife, Louise M. (Brotzel); his children, Suzanne (Daniel) Blanchard of New Berlin, Donna King of Mukwonago, Cynthia (Steven) Geis of Watertown and Mark (Vicki) Szerbat of Greenfield; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Florence Borlick of Green-field, Virginia Krajewski of Greenfield and Shirley (Edward) Baronowski of Wauk-esha; also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Edward Krajewski.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, 150 W. Oak Grove St., Juneau, followed by Mass of Christian burial at noon at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 417 Church St., Clyman. The Rev. Jerome Rinzel will officiate. Interment will be in Holy Assumption Cemetery.
Stanley was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and he will be deeply missed. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific conflict in Okinawa, Guadalcanal and Ryukyu.

JEFFERSON - Tyler J. Kreklow, 17, of Jefferson, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born on Feb. 10, 1990, in Fort Atkinson, son of James and Vickie (Varah) Kreklow.
Tyler was a senior at Jefferson High School and a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jefferson. He was employed at Frank's County Market in Jefferson.
Tyler loved life and he enjoyed playing basketball, soccer with friends, and on the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department teams. He had been part of the Badger State Soccer team for the past three years. He enjoyed fishing and hanging out with his friends.
He is survived by his parents, James and Vickie Kreklow of Jefferson; his paternal grandmother, Janet Kreklow of Jefferson; his maternal grandmother, Marjorie Varah of Fort Atkinson; one sister, Alyssa Kreklow of Jefferson; two brothers, Cory Kreklow and Justin Kreklow, both of Jefferson; many other relatives, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Willard Kreklow and Leonard Varah.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Comstock officiating. Burial will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson and on Thursday at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of services.

Robert I. Mentink, 52, of Watertown, died on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Robert was born Oct. 23, 1954, in Oconomowoc, son of Irvin and Ruth (Pegalow) Mentink. He was a 1972 graduate of Oconomowoc High School and worked on oil barges out of Louisiana for many years.
He loved jazz music and traveling. He enjoyed playing the trumpet and had a great love for life.
Surviving are two daughters, Stacy (Ivan) Baena and Rebecca Mentink, both of Watertown; two granddaughters, Abigail and Naomi, both of Watertown; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Lance A. Pirkel, 39, of Watertown, passed away following an apparent heart attack on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at Watertown Memorial Hospital. Lance's final act was to give the gift of life through tissue donation.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown with the Rev. Lee Meissner officiating. Burial will be in Glenview Memorial Gardens, Ixonia.
Visitation will be at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Christ United Methodist Church, the American Heart Association, Watertown Food Pantry or the charity of one's choice.
Lance was born on Dec. 19, 1967, in Watertown, the son of James and Michele “Mitch” (Lewandowski) Pirkel. He was a 1986 graduate of Watertown Senior High School. Lance was also a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a degree in park and recreation administration. He was employed by Tim Theder Landscaping of Watertown.
Lance was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown. He played baseball and basketball for Watertown High School and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He pitched and played first base for numerous baseball teams including the Watertown Cardinals and the Helenville Rebels.
Lance was an avid hunter and Wisconsin sports fan. He especially enjoyed the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers.
Lance is survived by his parents, Jim and Mitch Pirkel of Watertown; one sister, Lori (Randy) Wegner of Concord; two nieces, Kendall and Molly Wegner of Watertown; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ray and Erma Lewandowski, and his paternal grandparents, Francis and Adela Pirkel.

Adelbert “Del” E. Stueber, 77, of Watertown, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at his home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Kuckhahn officiating. Burial will take place in Lutheran Cemetery, Watertown, with the Watertown Veterans Council performing graveside military rites.

Del was born on May 19, 1930, in Richwood, son of Otto and Hattie (Kelm) Stueber. On Aug. 8, 1954, he married Lorraine Frentzel at St. John's Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Del worked at the Village Blacksmith before entering the United States Army in August 1951. He fought with the Korean Combat Infantry Badge as a sergeant, and was stationed at Camp Carson, Colo. Del was honorably discharged in May 1953. Upon his return from the service, he worked at Karbergs for 11 years as a mechanic and then worked as a postman until his retirement on May 19, 1990. For the last eight years, he worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Watertown.
Del was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Stueber; four sons, Lloyd (Chris) Stueber of Watertown, Glenn (fiancee Bonnie Harr) Stueber of Appleton, Wayne (Donna) Stueber of Marion, and Brian (Terry) Stueber of Reeseville; four grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Schmoldt; one brother, Harold (Marie) Stueber; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

BEAVER DAM - Clara L. Borchardt, 91, of Beaver Dam, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2007.
Funeral services were held today at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Terry Larson officiating. Burial was held in Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Watertown.

Clara was born on March 8, 1916, in Watertown, daughter of Emil and Mabel (Ross) Ihde. On April 29, 1943, she married Gerhard “Gary” H. Borchardt at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Watertown. She was a graduate of Watertown High School.
Clara had been employed in the kitchen at St. Mary's Hospital in Watertown and was a nursing assistant at Shorehaven in Oconomowoc for many years.
She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown and its ladies aid society, and AARP in Watertown. She enjoyed crafts, cooking, and playing cards.
Clara is survived by a daughter, Darlene (special friend Merlin Pieper) Budde of Beaver Dam; two grandchildren, Scott (Bonnie) Budde of Beaver Dam and Pamela (Gregory) Ludowese of Beaver Dam; four great-grandchildren, Mara Budde, Riley Budde, Nicholas Ludowese and Nathan Ludowese, all of Beaver Dam; and other relatives and friends.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerhard Borchardt on May 2, 2002; a sister, Doris Wendorf; and a grandson, Craig Budde.

Larry was born on Aug. 20, 1944, in Columbus, Ind., son of Paul and Velma (Miller) Klingbell. He was a 1964 graduate of Watertown High School, a veteran of the United States Army, and worked as a machinist for Waukesha Engine. Larry was a 13-year survivor of heart transplant surgery.
Larry is survived by two sons, John Klingbell and Jeffery Klingbell, both of Mukwonago; a sister, Doris Olsen of Laurinburg, N.C.; a brother, Bernard Klingbell of Ixonia; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Paulette Renz in December 2003; and a brother, John Klingbell in September 2005.

Shirley A. Saniter, 78, of Watertown passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 11, 2007, at her home.

Shirley was born in Hartford on April 30, 1929, daughter to Fred and Mary (Wilke) Krubsack.
On June 11, 1949, she married Melvin L. Saniter at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ashippun.
Shirley handled the accounting work at the former Saniter Tool & Machine Company, Inc. until it closed. She had also been employed in retail sales at the former Farmer's Cheese Store, later named Stallman's Cheese Store in Watertown, until it closed.
She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown, its Altar Guild, on the accounting committee and was a member of the Watertown Country Club. Shirley was an avid golfer, enjoyed vacations and life to the fullest. She was a very up beat and social person and cared about people very much. Shirley had many friends and was a very giving person. She will be missed by so many people.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Ron) Johnson of Dodgeville, Deborah (Peter) Kreuziger of Watertown; four grandchildren, Brian Riesen, Brad (Laura) Riesen, Travis “T.J.” (Lisa) Kreuziger, Nicole (Scott Ciulla) Kreuziger; five great-grandchildren, Logan, Brock, Alexis, Marin, Brecken Riesen; a sister, Mary Ann (Donald) Schmitt of Oconomowoc; sisters-in-law, Joyce Saniter, Beverly Saniter, Edina Macleod, all of Watertown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

WAUWATOSA - Helen M. (Bossmann) Traeger was born to eternal life on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at the age of 95 years.
She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Herlehy and the late Judge Clarence Traeger.
She was the loving mother of Susan (Paul) Charnon, Kathleen (Dr. Ronald) Duffy, Sister Nancy Traeger SSND, Tom Traeger, James Traeger and Kitty (Jim) Matenaer; the cherished grandmother of Timothy (Betty) Charnon and Sarah (Nicolas) Vandeweerdt; and the treasured great-grandmother of Jacob and Dylan.

Howard Schwartz
Howard F. Schwartz, 82, of Watertown, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at Shorehaven in Oconomowoc.
Howard was born on May 14, 1925, in the town of Bristol, son of Fred and Anna (Keppert) Schwartz. He enlisted in the United States Army on Sept. 22, 1943, in Marshfield and received an honorable discharge.
On June 16, 1946, he married the former Valeta Valaskey at Trinity Lutheran Church in the town of Lowell. Howard had served an electrical apprenticeship from 1944 to 1948 with Riverside Electric of Watertown. He continued and obtained his journeyman license. He joined the Electrical Workers union in Milwaukee and worked at large jobs wiring places like St. Claire's Hospital in Monroe, Northwestern College, Miller Brewery, Buscyrus Erie, Oconomowoc Hospital, Parker Pen, Hartland High School and Janesville Sand and Gravel. He obtained his contractor's license and opened his own business from 1958 to 1972. He was the Watertown electrical and building inspector from 1972 to 1976 and was then plant electrician for Johnson Controls until his retirement. After retirement he helped Horton Electric on a part-time basis.
Howard was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Columbus from 1925 to 1946 and then St. John's Lutheran Church in Watertown from 1946 to the present. He was a former member of the Watertown American Legion Post No. 189, Watertown Elks Lodge No. 666 and Watertown Country Club. Howard loved his home and taking care of the yard and gardening.
His hobby was woodworking and he made many beautiful things out of oak, walnut and pine, which he would give away, not sell. He especially loved to make beautiful things for his wife which she cherishes. He enjoyed dancing, music, country shows, his Airstream and traveling to Las Vegas, Branson, Nashville, Florida, Arizona and a Caribbean cruise.
Survivors include his wife, Valeta; a son, Dennis Schwartz of Watertown; a grandson, Jason Schwartz; a great-grandson, Jay Schwartz of Watertown; one niece, Suzanne Lendborg; six nephews, David Schwartz, Fred Schwartz, Fred Lendborg, Stephen Lendborg, Daniel Lendborg and Lawrence Lendborg; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gertrude Lendborg; two brothers, Ralph Schwartz and Alfred Schwartz.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 6 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Rodney Warnecke officiating. Burial will be on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Glenview Memorial Gardens, Ixonia.

Merril was born June 14, 1933, in Jud, N.D., son of Merril and Elsie (Adolfson) Dempsey. He married the former Marilyn “Mikki” Hensler on Sept. 27, 1980, at Peace Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie.
Merril was a graduate of Hawkins High School in northern Wisconsin. He served in the United States Army and was director of management information ser-vices for American Breeders Service in DeForest, Stoppenbach Foods in Jefferson and Doskocil Food Groups for many years. He was a member of St. John's Luth-eran Church in Waterloo.
Merril was an avid Packer, Brewers and Badgers fan, and enjoyed raising Arabian horses and Irish setters. He was proud of his Irish heritage.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn “Mikki” Dempsey of Waterloo; a son, Mark (Nancy) Dempsey of DeForest; two daughters, Terri (Steve) Beckwith of Middleton and Sharyn (Dan) Maly of Sun Prairie; seven grandchildren, Andy (Stacy) Dempsey, Megan Dempsey, Kyle (Malinda) Cook, Tyler Cook, Zachary Cook, Amanda Maly and Chase Maly; a great-granddaughter, Lori Elizabeth Cook; two sisters, Ellie (John) Roberts of McFarland and Dorothy (Jack) Schroeder of St. Ger-main; a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Roland was born in Watertown on Feb. 9, 1939, son of Harvey J. and Adella (Vergenz) Thelke. He married Jean Lewis on Aug. 29, 1965, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Reeseville. Ro-land graduated from Water-town High School and had been employed as a truck driver until his retirement. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Farmington and a former member of the Ixonia Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and hunting, but his greatest joy was spending time with his granddaughters.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Thelke of Lake Mills; three children, Beverly (Matthew) Pleshek of Bon-duel, Bonnie Thelke of Lake Mills and Roland Thelke Jr., of Lake Mills; four granddaughters, D'Laney, Daytona, Ava and Lila; a sister, Ruth Ann (David) Loppnow of Watertown; a brother, Richard (Gloria) Thelke of North Fond du Lac; other relatives and friends.

LAKE MILLS - Robert C. Willey, 73, of Lake Mills, died on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Sept. 22, 1934, in Whitewater, the son of the late Silas and Mildred (Ridgely) Willey. He married the former Rose Smith of Hartford on Feb. 8, 1958.
Bob owned and operated Big Bobber's Bait & Tackle in Lake Mills. He had also been employed at Miller Auto Parts, Wisconsin Marine and Watertown Metals for 13 years. He also had broadcast the Fishing Report for WTTN Radio there.
Bob served in the United States Army for 20 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Mills, the Clarence Bean-Warren George Lake Mills American Legion Post No. 67, the Endl-Gruennert Jefferson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3589, Knights of Columbus Council No. 6690, NRA, and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
Bob enjoyed fishing and hunting. In 2004 he participated in the Handicapped Hunt and also was on the cover of the 2005 Deer Report.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Rose of Lake Mills; four sons, Ronald of Allentown, Pa., Ralph (Nicole) and Robin (Shannon), both of Lake Mills, and Ryan of Fort Atkinson; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Kyle, Brittney Rose, Benjamin, Kaleb, and Alexis Rose; two stepgrandchildren, Brianna and Kayla; three brothers, Donald (Hildred) of Waupun, Francis of Palmyra and Silas (Marilyn) of Lincoln, Ark.; other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Mills with Father Robert Hughes as celebrant. Burial will be in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove.

LAKE MILLS - Larry L. Moldenhauer, 68, of Lake Mills, died on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at home.
Larry was born on June 28, 1939, in Watertown, son of the late Roy and Elaine (Punzel) Moldenhauer. He was a 1957 graduate of Watertown High School. He married RuthAnn Oemig of Lake Mills on Oct. 14, 1961, in Lake Mills.
Larry had been employed by the Jefferson County Highway Department. He served in the U.S. Army.
Larry was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Larry especially like doing things with his granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife, RuthAnn; one son, Kurt (Paula) of Lake Mills; a special granddaughter, Danielle; two brothers, Dale (Kathy) of Helenville and Randy (Kathy) of Watertown; four sisters, Linda (Dick) Baehler, Sally (Ralph) Seeber and Bonnie (Larry) Beerbohm, all of Watertown, and Jill Taylor of Rome; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. James E. Rath and the Rev. Bruce A. McKenney officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.

Maurice J. Neverman
Maurice J. Neverman, 85, of Watertown, found eternal rest as he passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007. He had spent the previous day harvesting fruits and vegetables from his gardens with help of friends and neighbors.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Pastor Terry Larson will preside.
“Red” was born Oct. 18, 1921, in Postville, Iowa, son of Lester and Velma (Brandt) Nevermann. He graduated from Postville High School and attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He married Myrle Albaugh on July 31, 1943, at her family farm in Mt. Vernon, Iowa.
From 1947 to 1981 Red worked in the artificial breeding industry in cattle. He started as a barn cleaner and rose to national sales manager with Carnation Breeding Service, part of the multi-national Carnation Co. Carnation brought him to Watertown in 1968.
After he was laid off in a corporate merger, Maurice started several businesses in Watertown, finishing his working career with his son, Don, in 2002 at Pacesetter Prompt Printing, Inc.
Red took a great deal of pride in the many technical innovations and industry firsts that he took part in. He took part in the experimentation that led to the freezing of semen. He traveled to South America to export frozen semen. While with Carnation, he researched and imported some of the first “exotic” breeds such as Flekvieh, Gelbvieh and Simmental to the United States.
Red and Myrle had four children, Diane Neverman-Bailey of Phoenix, Ariz., Duane (Chris) of Trenton, Maine, Doug (Sally) of St. Louis Park, Minn., and Don (Kathy) of Watertown. He also had 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, with another expected in November. He took great pleasure and pride in his family. He is also survived by two sisters, Wanda Anderson of Waukon, Iowa, and Ardis Johnson of Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister-in-law, LouDene Neverman of Jesup, Iowa; and an aunt, Audrey Schroeder of Postville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and his wife.
Since the passing of his wife Myrle, Maurice has found great joy in his gardens, producing many fruits, vegetables and blossoms. During inclement weather, he spent his time researching the descendants of Zachariah Ahlbach, putting over 34,000 names into one descendancy chart.
Maurice was also lucky in finding a second love in his life, Marilyn Bielski of Lake Geneva. Maurice and Marilyn spent a great deal of time traveling together over the years. They went to Phoenix in the winters and visited family and friends for life's special moments.

Gordon C. Behling
MADISON - Gordon C. Behling, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg.
Gordon was born on Nov. 11, 1923, in Johnson Creek, the son of Arnold and Alice (Block) Behling. He served his country and his fellow man as a lieutenant in the United States Air Force. He was a POW in Barth, Germany, before being liberated in 1945. He received his BA degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1948.
Gordon married the former Margie King on March 31, 1951.
He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and had been employed by the University of Wisconsin Extension as director of administration until his retirement in 1984.
Gordon is survived by two nieces, Janice M. Smith and her son, Todd (Jill Bradshaw) Smith, and their children, Samuel, Sydney, Avery and Allison, and niece Sandra (Ronald) Robran and their children, Kristin and Rebecca Robran.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Margie.

FOND DU LAC - Robert M. Witthuhn, 87, of 519 Luco Road, Apartment 260, Lakeview Estates, Fond du Lac, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
He was born on Aug. 18, 1920, in Shiocton, son of Arnold Witthuhn and Susie Johnson Witthuhn Andrews. On Sept. 4, 1948, Robert married Lucy K. Colburn at the old Community United Methodist Church building in North Fond du Lac.
Robert served in the United States Army during World War II in the South Pacific Theater from September 1942 to December 1945.
He retired from Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company in December 1985.
Robert was a member of Community Methodist Church, North Fond du Lac, and served as a treasurer on the church board and served on other committees. He was also a national member of AARP and a member of the local AARP Chapter 614. Robert was a member of American Legion Post No. 2930 of Portage. He was an honorary life member of Communications Workers of America and a member of Dairyland Council Life Member Club of Telephone Pioneers of America, where he served as board president. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America and served as Cubmaster and on several committees.
He is survived by two sons, Jay (Nancy) Witthuhn of Thornton, Colo., and Daniel (Lori) Witthuhn of Watertown; a daughter, Ann (Bob) Harshbarger of Fond du Lac; three grandchildren, Kathryn and Kristine Harshbarger and Dan Witthuhn; a stepsister, Lorrayne Hoewisch; a sister-in-law, Joyce Witthuhn; a stepbrother-in-law, Carlyle Manley; many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucy, on Oct. 28, 2004; a brother, Glen Witthuhn; four stepbrothers and two stepsisters.
There will be a private graveside service and inurnment on Wednesday in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. The family will greet family and friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Mach Funeral Chapel, 31 E. Division St., Fond du Lac.

JEFFERSON - Joan G. Haas, 73, of Jefferson, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at Countryside Nursing Home in Jefferson.
She was born on May 16, 1934, in Jefferson, daughter of the late Harold and Josephine (Bauer) Zimmer-man. She married Russell Haas on Aug. 5, 1950, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1994.
She and her husband owned and operated J & R Cleaning in Jefferson for many years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson and the VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by five daughters, Barbara (Milton) Blumenberg of Hatfield, Jaquiline (Dale) Naatz of Watertown, Jennifer (Robert) Reel of Las Vegas, Nev., Susan (Roger) Brunk of Johnson Creek and Shirley (Todd) Bonack of Sanford, N.C.; five sons, Robert (Peggy) Haas of Jefferson, Russell Haas Jr. of Jefferson, James (Sharon) Haas of Fort Atkinson, Matthew (Cindy) Haas of Waterloo and Bryan Haas; 28 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

He is survived by a daughter, Tiffany Walcott of Watertown; four grandchildren, Alexis Weiss, Noah Walcott, Taylor Walcott and Kaylee Walcott; two sisters, Suzy of Palatine, Ill., and Marlee Liaromatis of Adams-Friendship; one brother, David (Carrie) Liaromatis of England; his ex-wife, Julie Pillsbury of Watertown; and other relatives and friends.
Jeff will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends and he will never be forgotten. His memory will live on in all of those who knew him.

Hope was a homemaker and business manager of Boeder Painting.
Hope is survived by her daughters, Carmen (Eugene “Rocky”) Sjoberg and Vanessa Cepeda, both of East Troy; a brother, Robert (Edie) Kienast of Iowa; four grandchildren, Alicia Sjoberg, Amanda Sjoberg, Manases Cepeda, and Brock Boeder.

The former Viola Aleta Kroll was born on June 21, 1908, in the town of Concord, daughter of William H. and Martha (Zastrow) Kroll. On May 20, 1928, she married Martin H. Genz at Cross Lutheran Church in Ixonia. Martin preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1990.
Viola was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown. She enjoyed gardening and baking.
Viola loved Sunday afternoon visits with her family.

Gervase Jaehrling
Gervase J. Jaehrling, 78, of Watertown, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at St. Luke's in Milwaukee following a brief illness.
“Jarv” was born on July 17, 1929, in Watertown, son of Leonard and Anna (Torpy) Jaehrling. He attended grade school at St. Bernard's Catholic School and graduated from Watertown High School. He worked at Brandt Automatic Cashier for 43 years as a draftsman.
He married Karen Eames on Aug. 12, 1961, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Gervase was the beloved father of Teresa, Donna and Paul. Gervase was a lifetime member of St. Bernard's and was a member of the choirs for many years. His hobbies included model-building and bicycle riding.
Gervase was well-known as one of Santa's helpers for families and organizations in the Watertown area. His interests included Watertown history, trains, trucks and airplanes.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his only son, Paul Vincent (May 1, 1983).
He is survived by Karen, his loving wife of 46 years; his sister, Rita Jaehrling of Watertown; his two daughters, Teresa (Ron) Smithrud of Janesville and Donna Jaehrling of Janesville; and by two grandchildren, Erika Terese Smithrud and Nicholas Paul Smithrud of Janesville.
Gervase will be greatly missed by his family and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with Father Thomas Marr officiating. Family burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.

The former Emma Huber was born Dec. 25, 1917, in Dane County, daughter of Michael and Mary (Meindel) Huber. She married Oscar Behling Nov. 21, 1932, in the parsonage of St. John's Lutheran Church in Newville.
A homemaker, Emma and her husband farmed in the Waterloo and Marshall area for most of their lives. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Deerfield and loved to bake, cook and garden.
Surviving are two daughters, Ruth Yerges and Bonnie (Jerry) Sauer, both of Waterloo; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Herbert (Helen) Huber of Madison; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters, Carolyn Pribbenow and Evelyn Wilke; her parents; three brothers; and four sisters.

Robert Doubleday
Robert L. Doubleday, 80, of Medford, Ore., died at his home on Friday, Sept. 14, 2007.
Robert was born on Sept. 1, 1927, in Watertown, son of Louis and Hannah Doubleday. His last year at Watertown High School, he enlisted in the Marines. Upon completion of duty, he worked for Wisconsin Gas and Electric and Wisconsin Electric Power as a lineman.
In 1964, he moved his family to Cottonwood, Ariz., where he worked as a lineman for Arizona Public Service. He moved to Gold Beach, Ore., in 1974 and became a general contractor and master woodworker.
Robert is survived by his wife, Dolores of Medford; a daughter, Linda Fitzgerald of Davenport, Iowa; and two sons, Dan of Treasure Island, Fla., and Scott of Central Point, Ore.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Nancy (Frank) Griep and Joan Fendt of Watertown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Hannah Doubleday; three sisters, Mildred (Arnold) Wirth, Marian Doubleday and Lois (Ben) Grulkowski; and two brothers, Eugene and Roger.

Harold A. Baumann, 78, of Watertown, passed away on Sunday morning, Sept. 30, 2007, at his home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lebanon with the Rev. James O'Reilly-Christensen officiating. Burial will be in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Lebanon.

Harold Arthur Baumann was born on Sept. 15, 1929, in Lebanon, son of Fred W. and Louise (Minning) Baumann. He attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School in Lebanon and was a graduate of Watertown High School. On Sept. 23, 1950, Harold married the former Marjorie Kuehl at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Lebanon.
Harold farmed until his retirement at the age of 62. He had also been employed part-time at Holz Motors Inc. in Watertown for 15 years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lebanon, where he held many offices in the church and school. Harold was vice president of Watertown Musicians Association Local No. 469. He enjoyed playing softball and was a mean pitcher in Watertown, Lebanon and Ixonia. He bowled the Lebanon Spot League at Ashippun and Hustisford as well as the Saturday Night Couples League and Tuesday Senior League. They won many championships in all their leagues. Harold had also been a member of the Lebanon Fire Department.
Music was a big part of Harold's life. He was blessed with the ability to play a wide variety of instruments and musical styles, some instruments with formal training and others self taught, from clarinet and saxophone, to the bass drum and stump fiddle.
From its very beginning over 40 years ago, Harold was one of the original members of the Yankee Dutchman Solar Powered Precision Marching Band, participating in parades across the state. His dear friend, Will Eske, who passed just last week, was the leader of the band, and Harold was the heartbeat, ever present on the bass drum. We can hear them together now, playing “Jingle Bells” in the middle of summer.
For many years, Harold played with the Oconomowoc Legion Band, participating in numerous national award winning competitions, playing in major events across the country to include the 1959 Rose Bowl Parade. In his earlier years, Harold played with the Lebanon Band, the Will Eske Orchestra, the Jimmy Hartwig Orchestra and many others.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of Watertown; four children, Joan (Daniel) Oestreich, Joyce (Howard) Gutzdorf and John (Lynn) Baumann, all of Watertown, and Jane (Craig) Bentz of Park Falls; eight grandchildren, Aaron (Catherine) Oestreich, Michael (Jessica) Oestreich, Rebekah Oestreich, Karrisa (Michael) Hurtgen, Rachel Gutzdorf, Brent Baumann, Courtney Baumann and Kylee Bentz; five great-grandchildren, Zachary, Margaret, Jayda, Jasmyn and Carsten. He is further survived by a sister, Meta Turke, and a brother, Waldemar (Gladys) Baumann of Watertown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, William Turke.

Jim “Zimmy” H. Zimmerman, 50, of Watertown, was called home to his Father on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at the Don & Marilyn Anderson Hospice Care Center in Fitchburg. He ended his courageous three-year fight that started with a brain tumor leading to pneumonia complications.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 4 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Watertown with the Rev. James Werner officiating. Burial will follow in Lutheran Cemetery.

Jim was born on Nov. 28, 1956, at St. Mary's Hospital in Watertown, son of Harvey and Shirley (Tiews) Zimmerman. He married Judy Engel on Oct. 26, 1985. They would have been married 22 years. Jim had been employed at North Star Print Group for 17 years.
Jim was a very devoted husband and father to his three children. He loved his family vacations up north, to Disney, and fishing trips. He enjoyed watching his children participate in sports at school but was even more thrilled when he could join in at home. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer fan. He had a love for dogs, and especially his best friend, Winston (who was an Airedale).
Jim was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church where he enjoyed his ushering duty. He played softball and bowled in a league. Jim had a great love for his garden and his flowers which were admired by many.
Jim will leave behind his loving wife, Judy of Watertown; their daughters, Jamie and Jodi; their son, Justin; one grandchild, Nicholas; a sister, Daisy Beck; a special friend, Roger Kylmanen; a brother, Dale (Debra) Zimmerman of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sandy Padol; a nephew, Jason Beck; and his father-in-law, Russel Engel.
Jim's courage and fight was truly an inspiration to all the lives he touched on his journey. Merlin Moldenhauer
CONCORD - Merlin “Mert” Moldenhauer, 76, of the town of Concord, died on Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at his home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Concord United Methodist Church, W1096 Concord Center Drive, with the Rev. Carrie Kreps Wegenast officiating. Burial will be in Concord United Methodist Cemetery, Concord.
Visitation is at the Schmidt & Bartelt Notbohm-Kreutzmann Funeral Home in Oconomowoc on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorials are suggested to Concord United Methodist Church or the Sullivan EMS.
Merlin was born Sept. 14, 1931, in the town of Farmington, son of Arnold and Esther (Heine) Moldenhauer. On July 19, 1952, he married the former Jean Hemke in Watertown.
Mert had been employed at the Wisconsin Masonic Home in Dousman until his retirement. He was a member of the Concord senior group, Concord Historical Society, Concord United Methodist Church and the church board.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Moldenhauer; his children, Richard (Barbara) Moldenhauer, Carol Lueke, Robert Moldenhauer, Ronald Moldenhauer, Charles (De-nise) Moldenhauer, Connie (Daniel) Motelet and Chris (Cheri) Moldenhauer; his grandchildren, Shawn (Colleen) Moldenhauer, Jennifer Moldenhauer, Daniel (Sara) Moldenhauer, Melissa (Brian) Szajna, Angela Martin, Emily (Bryan) Martin, Caden Moldenhauer and Carli Moldenhauer; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Eugene (Donna) Moldenhauer; a sister, Lucille Pilgrim; brothers- and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews, and his dear friend, Mary Jane Kimber.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Genevieve Weier
LAKE MILLS - Genevieve Weier, 92, of Lake Mills, died on Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at her home.
She was born on Nov. 1, 1914, in Chicago, Ill., daughter of the late James and Anna (Stuha) Svidron. Genevieve married Walter F. Weier Sr. on May 9, 1939, in Chicago. He died on June 8, 1979.
Genevieve and Walter moved to Lake Mills in 1969 from Chicago. During her working years she was employed at Midwest Spring in Chicago, Hamlin Inc. in Lake Mills, and Fisher Barton in Watertown.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Lake Mills American Legion Auxiliary.
She enjoyed helping with and playing bingo at Willowbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and also at Brook Gardens.
Survivors include two sons, Walter Jr. “Wally” of Lake Mills and Robert (Nancy) of Burbank, Ill.; five grandchildren, Genevieve “Genie” (Dwain) Trewyn of Lake Mills, Karen (John) Noltner of Bloomington, Minn., Tracy (Eric) Erickson of Cambridge, Ruby Ann (Nick) Wilson of Lockport, Ill., and Robert Jr. of Burbank; 10 great-grandchildren, Cody, Connor, Cassiday, and Callan Wilson, Megan, Taylor, and Lauren Trewyn, Jordan and Brenna Noltner, and Emma Erickson; one brother, John Svidron of Justice, Ill.; two sisters, Mary Rosa of Dyer, Ind., and Rosie (Wayne) Whitaker of Cedar Springs, Mich.; other relatives and friends.
Also preceding in death were three brothers, Charlie, Joseph, and Jimmy Svidron; one sister, Ann, and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Weier.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Robert Hughes as celebrant. Burial will be in Rock Lake Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Claussen Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. on Friday at the church until the time of service.
If desired, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

George Smith Jr.
George H. Smith Jr., 59, of Watertown, died unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at his home.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Hafemeister Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Johnson of St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek officiating.
Family and friends may call to pay their respects at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorials would be appreciated to the family.
George was born on June 18, 1948, in Watertown, son of George H. Smith Sr. and the late Rita Novotny. On Dec. 26, 1982, he married Linda Klatt in their home.
George was member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek, where he had been a member of the church choir for a number of years. He served in the United States Navy from February 1969 to August 1970 and was also very active in the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps for 10 years, beginning as an instructor and later promoted through the ranks to lieutenant commander. He was a member of the Johnson Creek American Legion Post No. 305. He was also a Vietnam Veterans Chapter 5 charter member in Madison.
George worked for the Wisconsin Bell telephone company as a repair technician for most of his working life. He loved photography ever since he was in high school and continued to do it even after his retirement from Wisconsin Bell, working as a freelance photographer for the Watertown Daily Times.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Smith of Watertown; four children, Carrie (Jim) Oldenhoff of Wisconsin Dells, George (Jolene) Smith III of West Allis, Duane (Valerie) Smith of Crystal River, Fla., and Jenny (Dan) Collins of Jefferson; his father, George Smith Sr. of Oconomowoc; 15 grandchildren; three sisters, Juanita Dubry, Cynthia Irish and Andrea (Mike) Degner; his mother-in-law, Bernice “Mah” Klatt; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Harold Klatt.

Alice Brosseau
LAKE MILLS - Alice “Merice” Brosseau, 90, of Lake Mills, died on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at Willowbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lake Mills.
Merice was born on Dec. 1, 1916, daughter of Alfred and Ruth Danielson Blid in Hallock, Minn. (in the Red River Valley). Merice came from a large family of Swedish immigrant pioneers who were the first farmers and businessmen in that area of Minnesota. Her father, Alfred Blid, owned the first Buick dealership in northern Minnesota and enjoyed hunting and fishing with the Mayo brothers, who were the original founders of the famous Mayo Clinic.
Merice graduated from Hallock High School in 1935 and was employed by Peter-son's Hotel and Pharmacy as well as the Clay Pharmacy in Hallock. She married John Burton “Burt” Brosseau on Oct. 12, 1941, in Argyle, Minn. They were married nearly 66 years. She was a very devoted mother to their four children.
Over the years, Merice was very active in church and civic activities including the Women's Club, Christian Mothers, The Newcomers Club, PTA, and Boy Scouts. She served as a Sunday school teacher and worked with handicapped children and the elderly. For many years she volunteered at Willowbrook and Countryside.
She and Burt lived in Fosston, Minn., Bemidji, Minn., Thief River Falls, Minn., Duluth, Minn. and Richfield, Minn.; Chicago, Ill.; and Brown Deer, before settling in Lake Mills in 1970 when Burt purchased the Ford dealership which he owned and operated for 11 years before retiring. For several years they divided their time between various spots in Florida, Weslaco, Texas, and Lake Mills before selling their homes and moving into the Trinity Pines community.
Merice enjoyed crafts, golf, and bridge. She was an excellent cook. Over the last several years she was a resident in the Willowbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Helen Burns; and her devoted husband, Burt, who has called her to be with him just two short months after his own passing; their daughter, Barbara Bishop; their son, Jon; and their grandson, Todd Elowson.
She is survived by their two sons, Gregory (Suzanne) of Kurtistown, Hawaii, and Stephen (Tina) of Mesquite, Texas; six grandchildren, Stephanie Brosseau, Krista Balen, Ashley Brosseau, Matthew Brosseau, Nicholas Brosseau, and Stephen Brosseau; two great-grandsons, Austin and Alex; a sister-in-law, Joyce Kurz; several cousins, nieces, and nephews and many friends.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Mills with Father Robert Hughes as celebrant. Burial will be held in Park Hill Cemetery, Duluth, on Friday.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Thursday at the church until the time of the service.
If desired, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and the Macular Degeneration Foundation, Inc.
