LAKE MILLS - The Lake Mills Main Street Program will be conducting a survey of consumer preferences later this month. The survey will consist of a three page form which is being sent to all homes as part of the utility bill. Residents are urged to complete and return the survey as soon as possible.
Results of the survey will be passed along to all businesses in the Main Street district. The information will help existing and possible future businesses shape their products and services around the needs of the consumers.
Lisa Maurer, the program's executive director, stated “the better the response that we get, the more valuable this survey will be to Lake Mills' businesses.” She said, “Results of the survey will be used to help us in a variety of ways, including:
- “Downtown businesses thinking about expanding their hours want to know what times are best.
- “The program wants to learn more about the residents who do and do not attend our downtown events.
- “The program wants to know what brings local residents downtown and how often because we want to bring them downtown more often.
- “Downtown businesses want to know their competition so they can work to keep local business and retain jobs for our community.
- “Downtown businesses want to know what residents think their competitors do better so they can work to earn local business.
- “We want to know what other development projects residents support so we can begin planning future projects.
- “We want to help local residents start downtown's next great businesses.”
Brad Glassel, the Program's Economic Restructuring Com-mittee chairman, stated “the success of downtown businesses is vital to the success of our community. By taking a few minutes to fill out this survey you will help our local businesses to be more effective.”
Residents are urged to look for the survey which will be included in utility bills at the end of July and take this opportunity to contribute to the well-being of the downtown.
