Dodgeland seniors receive awards, scholarships

JUNEAU - Several academic scholarships and academic awards were presented Wednesday night to the 2007 graduating class at Dodgeland High School.
As 2007 valedictorian, Sarah Thompson, daughter of Gilbert and Annette Thompson of Juneau, received numerous awards and scholarships.
As top student in her class, she received the Wisconsin Academic Excellence Scholarship valued at $10,000. The scholarship is presented to the top student attending a University of Wisconsin school. Thompson plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in the fall to major in English.
She also received a Dollars for Scholars scholarship valued at $1,000, a Student Council scholarship valued at $200, a UW-La Crosse Freshman Award valued at $1,000 and the Wisconsin All-State Scholar valued at $1,500. She also received a President's Education Award, High Honors Award and DAR Good Citizen Award.
Thompson maintained a rigorous program of academic studies and was elected to the National Honor Society in her junior year, presently serving as the secretary.
Throughout her high school career, Thompson participated in a variety of extra- and co-curricular activities, playing softball and volleyball for two years, on the academic bowl for three years, the German Club for four years, class president for the past three years, forensics for four years, mock trial for four years, the National Honor Society for two years, student council for four years, debate for one year, has been a volunteer tutor for four years and has been a part of the gifted and talented program for the past four years.
Cody Ninmann, son of Curt and Cynthia Ninmann of Juneau, the 2007 salutatorian, also received numerous scholarships and awards. He received the Juneau Lions Club scholarship valued at $1,000, the Lisa Schneider Watertown Memorial Hospital Health Careers scholarship valued at $1,000, Wisconsin Elks Association scholarship valued at $1,000, Juneau/Dodgeland Alumni scholarship valued at $750, and the Student Council scholarship valued at $200.
He received a High Honors Award, the President's Education Award, and a WIAA Scholar Athlete Award.
Ninmann has been active throughout his high school career. He has played basketball for one year, cross country for four years, track for three years, participated in the musical for four years, forensics for four years, solo/ensemble for four years, mock trial for three years, German Club for two years, honors choir for three years, academic bowl for two years, National Honor Society for two years, student council one year, class officer for three years, Purple Pride for one year, attended Badger Boys State and was a member of the prom and homecoming courts.
Ninmann will also be attending UW-La Crosse next fall majoring in pre-medicine.
David Setzer, son of Fred and Sheila Setzer of Lowell, has received a Johnsonville Sausage scholarship valued at $3,000 per year for four years, a Dollars for Scholars scholarship valued t $1,000 and the Juneau/Dodgeland Alumni scholarship valued at $750. He received a High Honors Award and The President's Education Award.
Setzer is planning to attend the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater next fall majoring in business.
Aaron Selchert, son of Tom and Sharon Selchert of Juneau, has received a Dodgeland Athletic Booster scholarship valued at $250 and the William Emanuel Memorial scholarship valued at $150.
Selchert also received a High Honors Award and President's Education Award. Selchert will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater next fall.
Jamie Price, daughter of Marty and Dawn Pint of Clyman, has received a High Honors Award and a President's Education Award. She also received a Clyman Lions Club scholarship valued at $500 and the Juneau Lioness Club scholarship valued at $250. Price will be attending Madison Area Technical College next fall majoring in the veterinarian tech program.
Devin Goehring, son of Dan and Gail Goehring of Lowell, has received a Johnsonville Sausage scholarship valued at $3,000 a year and the Dodgeland Education Association Memorial scholarship valued at $1,000.
He received a High Honors Award, the President's Education Award, Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award, Army Reserve Scholar Athlete, and Dodgeland High School Male Athlete Award. Goehring will be attending Blackhawk Technical College in Kewaunee, Ill., for two years and then plans to transfer to Kansas State University to major in swine genetics.
Zachary Ludtke, son of Stuart and Susan Ludtke of Juneau, received a High Honors Award and the President's Education Award. He also received the Dodgeland Education Association Mike Saugstad scholarship valued at $1,000. Ludtke will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh next fall.
Stephanie Kuntz, daughter of Richard and Laurie Kuntz of Juneau, received a High Honors Award, the President's Education Award, Army Reserve Scholar Athlete, and WIAA Scholar Athlete Award.
She also received the Dodgeland Athletic Booster scholarship valued at $250 and the Alissa Thompson Memorial scholarship valued at $1,000 per year.
Kuntz will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee next fall majoring in nursing.
Amber Weisser, daughter of Jacob and Tammy Weisser of Clyman, received a Clyman Lions Club scholarship valued at $500. Weisser will be attending UW-Milwaukee next fall.
Andrew Zwieg, son of Michael and Elizabeth Zwieg of Clyman, also received a Clyman Lions Club scholarship valued at $500. Zwieg will be attending Herzing College next fall majoring in computer technology.
Kathleen Smith, daughter of Dawn Kreger of Juneau, received the Dodge County Lodge No. 72 scholarship valued at $500 and a Ripon College Honor scholarship. Smith will be attending Ripon College next fall majoring in pre-medicine.
Dustin Wegener, son of Dan and Phyllis Wegener of Juneau, received a Marian College Presidential scholarship valued at $24,000 over four years. Wegener will be attending Marian College next fall majoring in business.
Alyssa Wolfram, daughter of Ken and Debra Wolfram of Juneau, received the Juneau American Legion Auxiliary scholarship valued at $400 and a Dodgeland Athletic Booster scholarship for $250. Wolfram will be attending the UW-Oshkosh next fall majoring in pre-occupational therapy.
Sarah Whiting, daughter of Neal and Susan Whiting of Juneau, received the Herb Kohl scholarship valued at $1,000, Juneau Lioness Club scholarship valued at $250 and a Moraine Park Foundation scholarship valued at $400.
Whiting will be attending Moraine Park Technical College next fall majoring in computer technology.
Melissa Lischka, daughter of Roni Lischka of Juneau, received the Dodgeland High School Art Club scholarship valued at $100 and the Juneau Utility scholarship valued at $1,000. Lischka is planning to attend UW-Milwaukee next fall to major in art.
Kylie Muncie, daughter of James and Gina Muncie of Juneau, received a Juneau Lioness Club scholarship valued at $250. Muncie will be attending Madison Area Technical College next fall to major in liberal studies.
Samantha McCarthy, daughter of Donald McCarthy of Juneau, received a Dodgeland High School Art Club scholarship valued at $100 and the Beaver Dam Arts Association scholarship valued at $250. McCarthy will be attending UW-Milwaukee next fall to major in art history.
Corwyn Soldner, son of Jeffrey and Peggy Soldner of Reeseville, has received the Reeseville American Legion scholarship valued at $300 and Dodgeland Athletic Booster scholarship valued at $250. Soldner will be attending Concordia University next fall.
