Jefferson County Coroner Patrick Theder said this morning his investigation of the crash Sunday night which took the life of Todd Fraser shows no reason to believe alcohol was a factor.
He said he expects that to be confirmed when toxicology tests are completed in about a week. He added there was no alcohol at the scene and none could be detected. Toxicology tests are routine in traffic fatalities.
"We believe he fell asleep at the wheel when he was coming home from working a double shift at Ethan Allen Correctional center,” Theder added.
Theder said Fraser died instantly from massive trauma to his head and neck. The car caught fire after his death.
