Bob and Gerry Brunner of Whitewater are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary.

Their wedding day was Saturday, June 27, 1953, at 9:30 a.m. with a Holy Mass and ceremony at St. Lawrence Church, Jefferson. Following the wedding, the bridal party was served breakfast by Eleanor Riedl at the Topper restaurant in Jefferson.

Dinner followed at 11:30 a.m. at the bride's home with the reception and buffet dinner at 3 p.m. Both meals were prepared and served by the bride's mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Riedl.

The wedding dance was held at Shore Crest and began at 9 p.m. Unfortunately it was a rainy evening and the bride and groom departed early.

Bob and Gerry currently reside in Whitewater at the Mulberry Glen complex.

The couple has five children: Barb (Mike) Pretasky, Mindoro; Tom (Mary Kay) Brunner, St. Clair, Michigan; Patti (Del) Chmielewski, Johnson Creek; Tim (Kathy) Brunner, Brookfield; and Alison (Glenn) Stoll, Whitewater. They are blessed with 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
