George and Louise (Coryell) Fahrow, of Watertown, are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary today, Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, 2018.

Louise is from Sioux City, Iowa, where she spent most of her childhood until her family moved to Chicago, where she met George, and he successfully courted her.

They were joined in union at the Albany Park Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Carl T. Michel in the presence of parents, family members and close friends.

George was attended by his best man Julian Book, and Louise was attended by her maid of honor Lauretta Koziol, whom were both so inspired that they later copied the newlyweds' actions and were also joined in holy marriage.

George and Louise have three children, Lynn (Douglas) Reynolds of Beloit, Richard (Quintina) Fahrow of Waterloo and William (Kim) Fahrow of Germantown. George and Louise enjoy four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Both are retired and volunteer their services in the community.

They raised their children in Franklin Park, Illinois, and later moved to Coloma, where they spent over 42 years enjoying the quiet rural life until moving several years ago to Watertown, at the Marquardt Village campus, nearer to their children.
